This role will be a software engineer to help develop, drive, and execute implementation in an engineering team for the WEX Transaction Systems platform applications. Transaction Systems deals with card swipe authorization and clearing txn processing for WEX’s industry-leading fuel card platform.\nAs a Software Engineer on our team, you will be a key contributor following best practices in developing, and maintaining our cloud-native solution and delivering best in class solutions. You'll work with a modern tech stack including containerization, Kafka event streams, core java and APIs written in Java. collaborate with other team members to ensure high code quality.\n\nTroubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely and efficient manner.\n\nPick up new technology and switch between tech stacks with a minimum of fuss.\n\nStay abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies.\n\nExperience you’ll bring\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.\n\nGreat software development experience, including experience developing and supporting cloud-based infrastructure as code.\n\nStrong understanding of data structures and algorithms, object-oriented design, and problem-solving skills.\n\nExperience designing, implementing, and operating cache(Redis or Valkey) solutions in cloud-based, high-throughput systems.\n\nExperience with Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes for deployment.\n\nExperience with event streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka).\n\nExperience with cloud platforms such as AWS.\n\nExperience with logging, metrics, and tracing tools (e.g., Grafana, Splunk) to monitor and troubleshoot live systems.\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, and a collaborative mindset.\n\nBonus points for\nFamiliarity with implementing APIs and/or gRPC services.\n\nExperience with automated deployment pipelines.\n\nExamples of passion projects or contributions to open-source projects.\n\nPassion for technology and a desire to learn and
