This role will be a key software engineer responsible for helping develop, drive, and execute software solutions within the WEX Bill Pay platform engineering team. Bill Pay is a SaaS solution for technology and service providers in the consumer bill payment space that facilitates the collection and delivery of consumer payments.\nHow you'll make an impact:\nHelp develop, drive, and execute the long-term vision and strategy for the Corporate Payments cross-cutting and core services.\nCollaboratively define and implement the architectural roadmap for the Bill Pay platform, aligning with business objectives, industry best practices, and other Corporate Payments engineering teams.\nDesign, develop, and maintain scalable Java and Spring Boot applications running in AWS Cloud.\nBuild and enhance event-driven services using Apache Kafka.\nDevelop and maintain database solutions using PostgreSQL and Oracle, including SQL development and Oracle stored procedures.\nFoster a culture of innovation, collaboration, empowerment, and continuous learning within the engineering team.\nContinuously challenge the status quo and implement engineering practices that reduce time-to-market while maintaining quality and reliability.\nCollaborate with other Corporate Payments engineering teams to reuse development practices, services, and components to reduce duplication.\nExperience you'll bring:\n2+ years of professional software engineering experience.\nStrong experience developing applications using Java and Spring Boot.\nExperience developing and deploying applications on AWS Cloud.\nExperience building event-driven applications using Apache Kafka.\nExperience developing and supporting applications using PostgreSQL and Oracle Database, including Oracle stored procedures and SQL optimization.\nExperience writing high-quality automated tests, including unit, component, and integration tests, with a strong understanding of the test pyramid.\nStrong understanding of software design principles, security, and compliance requirements in cloud and data environments.\nExcellent problem-solving, collaboration, and technical communication skills.\nAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment with changing priorities.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience building applications in the financial services or payments industry, including bill pay, credit card, accounts receivable, or accounts payable solutions.\nExperience developing cloud-native SaaS applications.\nExperience working with geographically distributed engineering teams.\nThe base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan.
