We are looking for aSr. Product Manager with strong technical fluency and payments expertise to own the execution and delivery of our embedded payments product roadmap - collaborating across the business with an emphasis on creating a simple, proactive and personalized experience. In this role, you'll learn the end-to-end customer experience by assisting and supporting the Product Management team on their strategic roadmap, working closely with engineering on payments APIs and infrastructure. You will do this through performing and developing the following competencies:\nStrategic Mindset: Seek to understand WEX’s corporate strategy, the competitive environment and market trends and how our products can create value\nCustomer Obsessed: Deeply understand our customers’ needs through customer empathy, data and prioritize work\nResults Focused: Leverage data to understand how the product is performing and prioritize work \nInsights Driven: Use qualitative and quantitative insights to drive decisions, define experiments and prioritize roadmap\nTrusted Partner: Appreciate and comprehend different points of view and share information clearly and transparently with strong collaboration while knowing when to escalate \nRelevant Expertise: Brings a deep understanding of the market, applied technologies and domain expertise, with a curiosity and learning mindset\nWhat You’ll Do:\nOwn the strategy, roadmap, discovery, and end-to-end delivery for an embedded payments product or core payment platform capability, translating customer and business problems into clear product priorities.\nBuild a deep understanding of embedded payments customers, partners, market dynamics, and competitive offerings to identify opportunities and guide product decisions.\nLead customer-centric discovery and translate insights into actionable product requirements, hypotheses, and prioritized roadmaps in partnership with engineering and cross-functional teams.\nPartner closely with engineering on payment APIs, platform capabilities, and architecture trade-offs to deliver scalable, technically sound product experiences.\nLead product delivery with 1-2 Scrum teams, aligning teams around the problem to solve, sequencing work, and delivering value iteratively. The organization is working toward more stable, dedicated team assignments.\nUse qualitative and quantitative data to assess product performance, define success measures, inform prioritization, and evaluate customer adoption and business outcomes.\nCollaborate across product, engineering, analytics, UX, and relevant business partners to create a cohesive end-to-end customer experience across products and platforms.\nIdentify opportunities to modernize payment infrastructure and close capability gaps, including opportunities that enable broader Corporate Payments and Mobility use cases.\nUse AI tools thoughtfully to improve productivity and explore product opportunities, applying critical judgment to validate outputs and avoid introducing unsupported or inappropriate solutions.\nApply a risk-aware mindset to product decisions, including due diligence, compliance review processes, and protection of confidential or proprietary information.\nWhat You Bring:\n5+ years of experience in product management, with 2+ years of experience in payments, fintech, or embedded finance\nUndergraduate degree required, advanced degree is a plus \nUnderstand how features (micro) interface with overall product vision (macro)\nHas a learning mindset to start developing hypothesis that are tested and iterated \n2+ years of experience building payments products, ideally embedded payments/payments APIs (e.g. payment processing, disbursements, card issuing, or money movement platforms). Experience building self-service products from scratch, including data definition, SDKs, and APIs consumed by software developers\nDeep understanding of payments infrastructure - authorization/settlement flows, card networks, ACH/wire rails, or embedded finance patterns\nExperience partnering with engineering on API design (REST/webhooks), including tradeoffs around latency, idempotency, and compliance/PCI considerations\nFamiliarity with payments-adjacent regulatory or risk considerations (KYC/KYB, fraud, chargebacks) is a plus\nStrong ability to think through unifying elements and common denominators; dream up user workflows and interfaces; \nFamiliarity with big data frameworks \nData driven approach for everything you do, understanding your customers, roadmap prioritization and measuring success. \nAbility to work in an agile fashion with your teams; go broad to go narrow; build, test, iterate\nAbility to nurture various projects in parallel, in different stages of maturity and velocity \nNice to Have:\nExperience in embedded payments, fintech, or developer-first platform products.\nExperience with payment APIs, developer portals, sandbox environments, partner integrations, or data and event streams.\nExperience modernizing payment infrastructure or closing gaps between existing platform capabilities and market expectations.\nFamiliarity with payments-related risk, regulatory, or compliance considerations.\nWhy this role Matters:\nEmbedded payments is a growth area for WEX, with investment focused on strengthening core payment platform capabilities and making it easier for partners to integrate WEX payments into their own experiences. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan.
