Your future starts here.\nAbout the Team/Role:\nWe are looking for an enthusiastic and curious Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Internto join our team, gain hands-on experience, and kickstart your career in reliability engineering. This is an exciting time to join the SRE transformation at WEX. Our sophisticated products power a diverse range of customer businesses, generating rich, complex telemetry data. As we scale and modernize, ensuring reliability, performance, and efficiency across our systems is crucial.\nAs an SRE Intern,you’ll support the team in building foundational reliability practices that keep WEX services seamless and highly available. Working alongside experienced engineers, you will learn to develop automation tools, improve system observability, and assist with root cause analysis. You’ll also gain exposure to incident management and learn how to build resilient, scalable systems.\nWe operate with an agile mindset, blending engineering and operations in a collaborative environment. You’ll be surrounded by mentors who will support your learning, guide your technical growth, and help you solve real-world problems.\nHow you’ll make an impact:\nAssist in monitoring system reliability and performance alongside senior engineers.\n\nShadow team members during incident response, triage, and root cause analysis.\n\nWrite basic automation scripts to help reduce routine operational tasks.\n\nLearn and apply best practices in system design, maintenance, and change management.\n\nFollow established processes for testing and service deployment.\n\nParticipate in team learning activities and knowledge-sharing sessions.\n\nExperience you’ll bring:\nEducational Foundation: Pursuing a Master’s degreein Computer Science, Machine Learning, Software Engineering, or a related field.\n\nBasic understanding of Linux/Unix administration, networking, and system troubleshooting.\n\nFamiliarity with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.\n\nPreferred Skills:\nBasic experience in CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI).\n\nAwareness of cloud computing concepts (AWS, Azure, or GCP).\n\nGood understanding of version control systems (Git).\n\nFamiliarity with developing AI based solutions.\n\nAbility to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.\n\nThe base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan.
