We are currently seeking someone who is willing to work in Sanford, FL.\n\nGENERAL DESCRIPTION:\n\nThe Project Manager is responsible for the successful planning, execution, financial performance, and completion of assigned construction projects. This role oversees all aspects of project operations including budgeting, scheduling, procurement, subcontractor management, contract administration, client relations, risk management, and field coordination to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with company standards.\n\nThe Project Manager serves as the primary point of contact for owners, consultants, subcontractors, and internal project teams and is accountable for achieving project objectives while maintaining strong client relationships and operational excellence.\n\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nLead all phases of project planning, execution, and closeout activities.\nDevelop and manage project budgets, cost forecasts, cash flow projections, and financial reporting.\nDevelop, maintain, and monitor project schedules and recovery plans.\nManage owner contracts, subcontract agreements, procurement activities, and vendor relationships.\nLead owner, subcontractor, consultant, and internal coordination meetings.\nOversee project staffing, resource allocation, and operational planning activities.\nDirect and mentor Interns, Project Engineers and Assistant Project Managers.\nMonitor project safety, quality control, production performance, and operational efficiency.\nManage project risks, change orders, claims, and dispute resolution processes.\nConduct regular project site visits to review progress, field operations, safety compliance, and quality standards.\nMaintain strong client relationships and support repeat business opportunities through exceptional project delivery.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or another relevant field. \nSix (6) to ten (10) years of construction management experience. \nProven ability to independently manage complex construction projects from preconstruction through project closeout. \nStrong verbal and written communication skills. \nAbility to effectively communicate and coordinate with Senior Project Managers, Project Executives, Superintendents, and General Superintendents. \nDemonstrated experience with project startup and mobilization, including establishing clear managerial and administrative responsibilities within the project team. \nStrong leadership skills with experience assisting in the management of field personnel to ensure efficient operations and successful project performance. \nAbility to foster a positive team environment, maintain strong morale, and promote collaboration across project teams. \nStrong coaching and mentoring skills with the ability to support the professional development of team members at varying experience and career levels. \nAbility to collaborate effectively across departments and functions. \nExperience developing effective presentations and project-specific content for qualification packages. \nProficiency with computer-based CPM scheduling programs. \nProficiency with construction management software. \nProficiency with Microsoft Office products. \nStrong organizational, leadership, and project management skills with the ability to manage competing project priorities. \nAbility to occasionally lift and move office products and supplies weighing up to 20 pounds. \nAbility to work extended hours, evenings, and weekends as required by project schedules and operational demands. \nAbility to travel regularly to project sites and regional offices as needed to support project operations and business objectives.\n\nEqual Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disability\n\nWharton-Smith provides equal opportunity to qualified disabled veterans, Pre-JVA special disabled veterans and individuals with disabilities to online application systems by making reasonable accommodation to ensure equal access for submitting to job openings.
