We are currently seeking someone who is willing to work in Central, FL.\n\nGENERAL DESCRIPTION:\n\nThe Scheduler is responsible for supporting the development, maintenance, analysis, and oversight of complex construction project schedules from preconstruction through project completion. This role works closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Preconstruction Services, and Operations teams to support successful project execution through effective planning, forecasting, and schedule control. The Scheduler supports multiple projects and operational teams.\n\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nSupport the development of detailed baseline schedules in collaboration with precon estimating and project management & field teams\nProvide support and direction to project teams on schedule development, updates, and recovery strategies.\nSupport the in-depth reviews and analysis of project schedules for logic, float path, and overall health. This includes the use of resource and cost loading.\nServe as a subject matter expert (SME) for Primavera P6; provide high-level guidance and advanced troubleshooting support.\nGenerate schedule reports, forecasts, and schedule analytics.\nConduct forensic schedule analysis, including time impact analysis and delay claims.\nFacilitate schedule risk assessments during preconstruction and at key project milestones.\nDevelop, implement, and maintain scheduling best practices, procedures, and tools across the organization.\nCoordinate with Estimating, Operations, and Executive teams to support pursuit schedules and resource planning.\nRepresent the scheduling department in project planning meetings and monthly project reviews.\nTrain operations staff in scheduling theory, techniques, and software usage.\nConduct job site visits to evaluate progress, validate updates, and align field and office expectations.\nMaintain professionalism and a positive image of the company with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and project teams.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Systems Engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.\nMinimum of three (3) years of construction scheduling experience, including developing, maintaining, and updating project schedules.\nExperience with Primavera P6 (P6) and/or Oracle Primavera Cloud (OPC) preferred.\nKnowledge of Water/Wastewater and/or Commercial construction projects preferred.\nProficiency in Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project (MSP) and their application to complex construction projects.\nStrong understanding of construction planning, scheduling principles, and the overall project life cycle.\nIn-depth knowledge of construction means and methods, project sequencing, scheduling logic, and resource management.\nAbility to develop, analyze, and maintain detailed construction schedules to support project execution and completion.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify scheduling conflicts, evaluate project impacts, and recommend solutions.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office applications and project management or work management systems.\nExcellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate scheduling information effectively.\nAbility to collaborate with Executive Leadership, Preconstruction Services, Project Managers, Project Superintendents, Foremen, and other project stakeholders.\nStrong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet critical deadlines.\nExceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy and consistency in project schedules and reporting.\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven construction environment.\nProficiency in using standard office technology, including laptops, smartphones, photocopiers, and scanners.\nAbility to perform office-related tasks requiring close vision, focus, and regular verbal communication.\nAbility to occasionally lift and move office materials and supplies weighing up to 20 pounds.\nAvailability to work a full-time, exempt schedule during standard business hours, with flexibility to work extended hours based on project requirements.\nWillingness to travel to project job sites outside the local area as business needs require.\n\nEqual Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disability\nWharton-Smith provides equal opportunity to qualified disabled veterans, Pre-JVA special disabled veterans and individuals with disabilities to online application systems by making reasonable accommodation to ensure equal access for submitting to job openings.
