We are currently seeking someone who is willing to work in Sanford, FL.\n\nGENERAL DESCRIPTION:\n\nThe VDC Engineer is responsible for the planning, visualization, and computer modeling of construction projects. Producing detailed construction and design plans for Superintendents and Engineers from other disciplines to follow. \n\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nMid-level of understanding of Water and/or Commercial construction demands. \nCan work effectively & efficiently with minimal direction from Senior level.\nCommunicates with Subcontractors and teams on projects. \nTake leadership for select project tasks and/ or components. \nPerform project model setup and management throughout the project lifecycle. \nConduct 3D trade coordination meetings and support management of trade contractor drafters. \nAdvance innovation on complex projects. \nSupport reality capture services (LiDAR, SLAM, Drone). \nLead QA/QC and manage BIM in various platforms. \nUtilize BIM to generate drawings and details following specified standards. \nImplement project-specific BIM standards, developing or augmenting standards where necessary. \nTroubleshoot software, processes, and technical issues. \nComplete project deliverables on time and within budget. \n\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nBachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field; OR Minimum of two years of college credits with four years of work experience in VDC, Engineering, Architecture, or Design. \n0–2 years of relevant experience; internship experience in a related field preferred. \nExperience with or knowledge of the Autodesk AEC Suite, including:\nAutoCAD \nRevit \nNavisworks \nPlant3D \nCivil3D \nRecap\nFamiliarity with Autodesk Forma, DroneDeploy, and Procore. \nBasic understanding of design/construction documents and building systems. \nExcellent verbal and written communication skills. \nStrong organizational skills with high attention to detail. \nAbility to effectively communicate with senior-level team members, provide updates on project status or issues, and coordinate resource needs with the VDC team. \nAbility to work in both a professional office environment and occasionally on active project job sites. \nAbility to occasionally lift office products and supplies weighing up to 20 pounds. \nFull-time availability, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.\n\nEqual Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disability\n\nWharton-Smith provides equal opportunity to qualified disabled veterans, Pre-JVA special disabled veterans and individuals with disabilities to online application systems by making reasonable accommodation to ensure equal access for submitting to job openings.
