Our tech is used by emergency services, delivery companies, eCommerce businesses, ride-hailing apps and NGOs, and is integrated into the navigation systems of millions of cars around the world.\nWho we’re looking for\nBased in Vietnam out of our centrally located Ho Chi Minh City office, we’re looking for an experienced Front End Engineer who knows code, and enjoys creating engaging experiences that people love to use.\nAt what3words, we're proud of our tech stack. We have built a massively scalable, microservices-based architecture, based around Kubernetes on AWS. You'll be exposed to technologies such as ReactJS, Docker, Redis, Kubernetes, AWS Lambdas, Prometheus, Grafana, Python, Athena, BigQuery, Java, Scala, C++, and Swift.\nThis is a great opportunity to join a collaborative, ambitious and Agile team, at one of the most exciting times in this company's life.\nRequirements:\n\n This role will focus primarily on the development of our map site, account management system, and other websites to support and showcase what3words’ offerings. You will also work closely with our product and UX teams, receiving and inputting on designs and feasibility checks, and bringing fresh ideas to make what3words a better solution. You will have good experience of building sleek user interfaces on top of RESTful web APIs, using React, JavaScript, CSS. You will be able to work independently, self-motivate, collaborate well with others and keep calm under pressure.\nWhat we expect:\nStrong experience with ES6, TypeScript, React, HTML, CSS.\n\nExcellent communication skills in verbal and written English.\n\nA passion for software engineering and continuous learning.\n\nSolid track record of building responsive sites for desktop, tablet and mobile.\n\nBonus points for:\nKnowledge of Next.js, Google Maps or Leaflet, GIS systems, AWS, Kubernetes, or similar systems.\n\nExperience of Agile working environments.\n\nThe role is based in our centrally located HCMC office. While you can work from the office five days a week if preferred, our Engineering team can choose to work up to two days a week from home.
