This role supports the organization’s financial health by assisting with budgeting, audits, reconciliations, and general ledger activities.\nResponsibilities:\nPrepare and maintain financial records, reports, and statements. \nPerform general ledger entries, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closings. \nProcess accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions. \nAssist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses. \nEnsure compliance with GAAP and relevant laws and regulations. \nSupport internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation. \nIdentify and recommend process improvements to enhance financial accuracy and efficiency. \nMaintain confidentiality of financial data and company information. \nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. \nOne to three years of related experience (higher education experience preferred). \nProven experience as an accountant or in a similar role. \nStrong knowledge of accounting principles and practices. \nProficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel. \nExperience with Ellucian Colleague preferred. \nExcellent attention to detail and organizational skills. \nStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities. \nAbility to work independently and as part of a team. \nWork Environment:\nOffice setting with standard business hours. \nMay require occasional overtime during reporting or audit periods. \nWheeling University is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
