Regardless of how, when or where you want to fly, our mission is simple; deliver a premium, personalized aviation experience for every customer.\nRole Overview: What You’ll Be Doing\nIn this role, the Director, SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting (Chamblee, GA or New York City, NY) will lead our SEC reporting function and own the preparation and review of SEC filings, including Forms 10-K and 10-Q, utilizing Workiva. The Director, SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting will work cross-functionally on SEC reporting matters for preparation and review of financial statements, footnote disclosures, MD&A and relevant disclosure checklists. Additionally, the Director, SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting should have US GAAP and SEC Regs expertise in applying and interpreting technical accounting, reporting and disclosure requirements, as well as a strong understanding of economics and business matters. Direct interaction with executives, senior management, in-house/external legal teams, auditors and tax and other advisors.\nResponsibilities\nYour Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions)\nServe as the subject matter expert on U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations. \nResearch and document technical accounting issues, including revenue recognition, lease accounting, share-based compensation, and business combinations \nDraft technical accounting memos and position papers \nReview material contracts for accounting implications \nLead the implementation of new accounting standards and pronouncements \nManage the SEC reporting calendar and ensure timely execution of all filings \nOversee XBRL tagging and ensure accuracy and completeness of disclosures \nCoordinate internal and external reviews of SEC filings, including tie-outs and audit support. \nLead the interim reviews and annual audit processes with the external auditors \nPrepare materials for the quarterly disclosure committee and audit committee meetings \nWork directly with the Investor Relations and Legal teams on a quarterly and annual basis with respect to the drafting and review of press releases, earnings releases, investor letters and related SEC filings \nSupport the internal audit team with respect to SOX controls related to the SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting functions \nLead and mentor a team of accounting professionals \nSpecial projects in support of broader corporate initiatives\nQualifications\nWhat You Bring to the Table: Education & Certification Requirements\nWe’re looking for someone who has a unique mix of experience, skills, and passion for what we do:\nA minimum of 8 years of experience with recent public accounting experience \nBachelor’s degree in Accounting \nAn active CPA license \nProven track record in technical accounting research and writing memos \nDeep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and SOX compliance \nHands on experience with SEC Filings (10-K, 10-Q, S-1, S-4, 8-K etc.) \nStrong written and verbal communication skills for presenting complex accounting matters \nAbility to lead and mentor teams \nHigh attention to detail and organizational skills \nAbility to work cross-functionally with Legal, FP&A, Tax, Investor Relations and Human Resources \nWorking knowledge of Workiva a must and NetSuite a plus \nWhat We Offer\nSalary Range & Benefits\nAt Wheels Up, we believe in fair compensation based on experience, skills, and qualifications. The yearly compensation for this role ranges from $185,000 to $210,000, depending on a variety of factors. We don’t typically start individuals at the top of the salary range; your place within the range is based on what you bring to the table.
