The Platform team builds the reusable infrastructure, patterns, and tooling that every Helix service depends on.\nThe Role:\nAs a Senior Software Engineer on the Helix Platform team, you will build and operate the foundational services, tooling, and patterns used across the Helix ecosystem. You’ll work heavily in Go, build gRPC + REST APIs, design multi-tenant data models in PostgreSQL (JSONB included), and ship production workloads on Kubernetes (EKS)using Helm + GitHub Actions. This role is ideal for someone who loves both shipping features and strengthening the platform underneath them, performance, reliability, security, operability, and clean developer experience. This is a remote role based in Los Angeles or New York City.\nWhat You’ll Do:\nBuild and operate core Helix services and shared platform capabilities (tenant foundations, auth patterns, metadata and records patterns, eventing patterns, shared libraries)\n\nDesign and implement APIs using gRPC protobuf and REST\n\nWork in PostgreSQL every day, including schema design, migrations, JSONB modeling, and performance tuning\n\nDeploy and run services on AWS EKS, including ALB ingress, health checks, scaling, and production debugging\n\nPublish and consume events via Kafka and design event contracts that hold up over time\n\nImprove developer velocity by contributing to Helm templates, CI CD workflows, service scaffolding, and configuration standards (including secrets and environment management)\n\nRaise the bar on testing, code quality, observability, and operational hygiene\n\nMentor other engineers and lead technical conversations that unblock teams\n\nWhat Success looks like:\nIn the first 3 to 6 months you should be able to:\nShip meaningful platform improvements that reduce friction for multiple Helix service teams\n\nOwn a capability end to end (design through rollout) that becomes a reusable pattern across services\n\nFind and fix at least one production reliability or performance issue (database, ingress, scaling, eventing, etc)\n\nImprove standards in a way that sticks (tests, CI checks, runbooks, dashboards)\n\nWhat You Will Bring:\nStrong backend engineering experience and production ownership\n\nExperience building microservices and running them in production\n\nGo experience, or deep systems language experience and you can ramp to Go quickly\n\nAPI design experience, gRPC and protobuf experience is a strong plus\n\nStrong PostgreSQL fundamentals and real experience with migrations and performance tuning\n\nKubernetes experience in production, EKS is a plus\n\nA practical quality mindset, you write tests and you care about operability\n\nNice to have:\nMulti tenant SaaS experience and an opinion on tenant isolation and authorization boundaries\n\nKafka experience (consumer groups, idempotency, event schemas)\n\nEnvoy or gRPC Web experience\n\nHelm, GitHub Actions, Terraform, AWS networking and ingress patterns\n\nObservability experience (structured logs, metrics, tracing, OpenTelemetry)\n\nWhat We Have To Offer:\nYour wellbeing is our priority.
