Creates, modifies and controls detailed two- and three-dimensional parts and assembly drawings from engineers' and technicians' sketches, plans and written and verbal instructions.\nThis role in summary:\nWhirlpool is looking for a qualified candidate for the role of Structures Engineer - Sr Analyst role (Lead Engineer) for Pondicherry Location. This role will manage design and development of washing machines parts/modules related to the structures & power train module. You will be responsible for delivering the engineering deliverables of your subsystem/module as per whirlpool product development process. In this role you will also interact with the cost and quality team to identify the cost and quality opportunities in your respective modules and parts. Identify and capture efficiency opportunities through product design improvements.\nYour responsibilities will include:\nDesign & develop parts (plastic, sheetmetal, casted, Aluminium) for the washing machine.\nDesign & develop washing machine power train parts (gear drive train, belts & pulleys).\nDeliver Cost and Quality assigned targets\nExecute part / module development following the Whirlpool Product Development (WPD) methodology\nCreate Engineering BOM related to your parts/modules.\nCreate Engineering changes & Able to make BOM changes in Windchill / SAP\nCreate FMEA ( Failure Modes and Effect Analysis) & DVP&R (Design Validation Plan & Report)\nCreate work plans/ schedules to complete projects and introduce changes into production\nSupport Change Notices for project execution\nInteract with internal and external stakeholders as part of the project execution ( Suppliers, Procurement, day to day team, Manufacturing, Marketing, Quality)\nAbility to utilize analytical skills and proactive self-management to meet and exceed goals\nKey Deliverables:\nDesign & development of washing machine parts (Structural & power train) module.\nDrive and deliver cost & quality targets for your module/parts.\nMinimum requirements:\nEDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: B.E (Mechanical)\nEXP: 10+ years\nTechnical:\nDesign & development of parts (plastic, sheetmetal, die cast).\nKnowledge of power train parts design & development.\nOPEX/ 6Sigma certification - Black Belt preferable.\nConceptual & Analytical Skills\nKnowledge in FMEA, DVP&R, verification and validation.\nKnowledge in various manufacturing processes and materials.\nKnowledge in GD&T, Design Standards, variation analysis\nKnowledge in APQP /Lean tools and practices\nSystematic problem solving\nPMP - PMI certification - Good to have.\nPreferred skills and experiences:\nMANAGERIAL:\nExposure/experience of working in a global engineering team environment\nTeam player, flexibility in adapting to quickly changing business tasks/project priorities\nGood communication & presentation skills\nSelf driven & take initiatives\nCollaborate effectively with Cross functional teams\nWhat we offer:\nN/A\nConnect with us and learn more about Whirlpool India.
