This role in summary

This position provides essential floor support, troubleshooting equipment issues, and assisting

with maintenance to ensure accurate documentation within a manufacturing environment. The

Manufacturing Engineering Technician is responsible for identifying root causes of equipment

issues, resolving problems independently or escalating to Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and

ensuring smooth production operations. This includes collaborating with production teams to

develop, review, and modify standard operating procedures and work instructions. This role

serves as a critical technical resource to minimize downtime and maintain efficient

manufacturing processes.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Troubleshooting and Problem Solving:
  • Troubleshoot down equipment and systems (mechanical, pneumatic, and

hydraulic) using root cause analysis (RCA), 5Why, and other problem-solving

techniques.

  • Interpret and work from electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics, wiring

diagrams, blueprints, and technical drawings to diagnose issues.

  • Analyze real-time equipment operating data (Digital Dashboard) to make

informed troubleshooting decisions.

  • Report any machine issues to the day shift ME team
  • Technical Leadership and Documentation:
  • Serve as a technical resource and first line of engineering support for production

and maintenance staff, providing day-to-day guidance.

  • Create and update process documentation, including standardized work, process

sheets, PFMEAs, visual aids, and control plans.

  • Develop and audit standards according to quality system requirements such as

SOPs, Risk Assessments, and LOTO procedures.

  • Keep detailed records of all maintenance, repairs, and installations.
  • Support the development, integration, and start-up of new processes and

equipment.

Minimum requirements

  • An Associate’s Degree or higher in a technical field such as Industrial Maintenance, or

Automated Manufacturing Systems Technology

  • Ability to read and interpret complex electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and

part drawings/blueprints/schematics.

  • Strong mechanical knowledge and intermediate understanding of hydraulic and

pneumatic systems.

  • Experience with industrial automation, including troubleshooting and basic

programming/touch-ups of robotic systems (e.g., Fanuc, KUKA) and motion control.

  • Demonstrated experience in root cause analysis and formal problem-solving

methodologies.

  • Proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)

systems such as SAP.

  • Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement (CI), Lean principles, and World Class

Manufacturing (WCM) tools.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work from elevated heights, including using ladders, raised platforms, caged

lifts, and manual climbing on equipment up to 40 feet.

  • Ability to work in confined space areas.
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 35-50 pounds and occasionally lift heavier

items with assistance.

  • Able to stand for long durations, bend over, twist, squat, and maneuver the body for

troubleshooting activities.

  • Willingness to obtain and maintain necessary licenses for mobile equipment (PIT,

Overhead Crane, Personnel Lift).

  • Ability to work 2nd or 3rd shift and overtime as required.
