This is an onsite role at our Clyde, Ohio location.\nA Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible to work with various departments and suppliers, to diagnose root causes of defects and take the actions necessary to rectify the defect(s) internally and with our supply base. Serve in the lead role to assure that assigned suppliers fully comply with PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) and 8D (Eight Disciplines) processes. Duties also include assisting the department leadership team with essential functions and daily activities, as required. Will report directly to the Supplier Quality Engineering group. Must be available for all shifts. \nYour responsibilities will include\nDevelop and maintain strong product knowledge.\n\nProvide Rapid Response diagnostic services and initiate appropriate actions to address supplier-related assembly line issues.\n\nDrive CAL and Reliability evaluation processes.\n\nValidate and execute non-conforming part containment procedures and provide reports.\n\nMonitor line returns and non-conforming parts and take the proper corrective actions with assigned suppliers.\n\nDrive the corrective action process to completion.\n\nDevelop and process kaizens to drive continuous improvement in addressing supplier quality-related issues. Support SQE (Supplier Quality Engineering) group on assigned supplier improvement projects.\n\nProvide leadership and training for Supplier Quality organization.\n\nProvide Quality Engineering support for trial runs.\n\nSupport all Plant strategies, methodologies, and initiatives.\n\nLead assigned supplier improvement projects and travel to supplier locations as necessary to evaluate issues.\n\nComplete PPAPs for assigned suppliers and fully support new product introduction cost, quality, and model line projects.\n\nWork closely with quality and process engineers to support their needs\n\nWork closely with suppliers to guide them through 8D problem solving and 8 Stages methodology as well as PPAP guidance.\n\nWork closely with other departments (materials & support) to problem solve.\n\nWork with quality engineers to identify problems with high PPM parts\n\nMinimum requirements\nBachelor’s Degree\n\n1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment\n\nPreferred skills and experiences\nPrior experience with administrative responsibilities\n\nExperience working with Electronic components\n\nExperience working with PPAPs\n\nExcellent organizational and time-management abilities\n\nAttention to detail\n\nProficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel), and an Adept at the use of Google Suite; Sheets, Docs and Slides\n\nExcellent interpersonal/communication skills\n\nProven leadership abilities\n\nProven ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks\n\nAll required WCM (World Class Manufacturing) Quality Tool Certifications, particularly 8D Problem Solving and Kaizen methodology\n\nBluePrint and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) experience or training\n\nAble to use advanced shop mathematics, read highly complicated drawings, use a variety of measuring devices, and broad use of specialized training\n\nWhat we offer\nGenerous benefits package, Whirlpool employee discount, fitness & educational reimbursement programs, kitchenettes, and more!
