Whitaker Holdings and Subsidiaries, an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) company, has become one of the largest contractors in the intermountain area with more than 600 employees and nearly 70 crews. We perform sanitary sewer, storm drain, culinary water, irrigation, earthwork, roadway construction, dams, landfills, natural gas pipelines, industrial piping, and telecommunication projects primarily in Utah, Idaho, Nevada, Wyoming, Colorado, and Oregon.\nRoles and Responsibilities:\nIncluding but not limited to the list below.\nResponsible for coordination of local safety efforts across multiple companies.\nSupervise day-to-day activities of HSE Managers.\nTake ownership in leading various departments to address specific safety concerns based on the organization's needs and industry regulations.\nManage, develop, and implement the company's health and safety program and protocols.\nConduct comprehensive training sessions for supervisors, managers, and employees on health and safety standards.\nEnsure adherence to OSHA, federal, and state regulations.\nConduct thorough risk assessments to identify safety hazards.\nMonitor and enforce compliance with safety protocols among employees.\nAnalyze health and safety data to identify trends and areas for improvement.\nReview and recommend changes to regular activities to enhance safety measures.\nInvestigate workplace accidents, prepare reports, and propose preventive measures.\nDemonstrate composure and effective decision-making in emergencies.\nOther duties and responsibilities may be assigned by supervisors.\nSkills and Qualifications:\nREQUIRED: ASP-Associate Safety Professional (BCSP accredited) or GSP-Graduate Safety Practitioner (BCSP accredited).\nBachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Public Safety), or the equivalent combination of education and experience.\nStrong underground construction knowledge and experience.\nProficiency in OSHA guidelines and other relevant safety regulations.\nFamiliarity with workplace tools, machinery, and equipment.\nStrong attention to detail and analytical skills.\nEffective communication skills, both verbal and written.\nAbility to teach and enforce safety standards.\nCompetence in computer literacy and technology used in safety management.\nTeam-oriented with the ability to interact effectively with diverse groups.\nPrevious experience in the health and safety field, preferably in a similar role.\nIndustry-specific knowledge and experience writing safety policies.\nFamiliarity with safety management systems and data collection methods.\nOn-the-job training provided, focusing on organization-specific risk factors and safety procedures.\nBilingual preferred: English/Spanish, as this role involves frequent communication with Spanish-speaking employees.\nReliable transportation to get to and from work.\nPhysical Requirements:\nAble and willing to work long hours including day, night, and weekend shifts as needed, and work outside of normal hours.\nAble to walk, lift, reach, stoop, stand, grasp, balance, climb, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 50 pounds frequently.\nAble to work in outside environments being subjected to weather changes, noise, vibrations, and job hazards.\nDas-Co of Idaho, a Whitaker Company offers an exceptional benefits package including:\nEmployee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).
