Operating across Utah, Idaho, Nevada, Wyoming, Colorado, Oregon, and beyond, our companies are united by four core values - Value Safety, Embrace Ownership, Be Honorable, and Elevate Team - which guide how we work, how we treat each other, and how we deliver quality results on some of the most challenging projects in the region.\nRoles and Responsibilities:\nIncluding but not limited to the list below.\nManage all aspects of the project, including construction, budget, and cash management, to ensure compliance with the project contract and owner needs.\nDevelop and manage the project schedule, pay estimates, project procedures, staffing requirements, and equipment resources needed to complete accurate and timely project production.\nAssess the initial project contract and supporting documents for completeness. Work with the owner to resolve specification, contract conflict, and scheduling issues.\nReport and document changes to each job, including change orders, submittals, changes to the plan set, changes to work orders due to a change order, and any other change to the original contract.\nEnsure supplies and equipment are ordered and delivered according to schedule.\nObtain the appropriate permits and licenses from authorities for construction sites.\nMonitor and control construction through administrative direction of the on-site Superintendent to ensure the project is built on schedule and within budget. Investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.\nAllocate and manage resources to ensure they are available when needed throughout the construction process.\nCollaborate with subcontractors, engineers, architects, and key members of the project team.\nCreate and present the monthly cost and revenue forecast.\nEnsure project safety reviews and procedures are followed by conducting weekly safety checks and engaging in safety meetings. Support the safety programs of the project and the owner.\nLead project closeout procedures, including finalizing contract paperwork, obtaining retainages, and working with management to resolve any project claims. Review all aspects of project work and completion.\nComply with all safety policies, procedures, and standards of safety.\nOther duties and responsibilities may be assigned by the Senior Project Manager or management team.\nSkills and Qualifications:\nBachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or other related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.\nA minimum of 7-10 years of experience as a Project Manager, or in a similar position, with experience in underground utilities, civil site work, and heavy civil projects.\nKnowledge of field concepts, practices, and procedures related to commercial construction.\nStrong organizational and time management skills.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills with all levels, from client and management to workers and subcontractors.\nAbility to understand plans and specifications.\nAttention to detail and ability to recognize and correct discrepancies.\nStrong work ethic and willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done.\nCreativity and ability to think outside the box.\nAbility to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions.\nGoal-oriented and organized leadership.\nAbility to manage in a team environment, as well as work independently.\nProficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.\nProficient using Viewpoint, Primavera P6 scheduling software, Bid2Win, etc.\nValid driver’s license and reliable transportation to get to and from work.\nPhysical Requirements:\nAble and willing to work long hours including day, night, and weekend shifts as needed, and work outside of normal hours.\nAble to walk, lift, reach, stoop, stand, grasp, balance, climb, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.\nAble to work in outside environments being subjected to weather changes, noise, vibrations, and job hazards.\nWhitaker Construction offers an exceptional benefits package including:\nEmployee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).
