Wuse 2, Abuja (FCT)\n\nJob Summary\n\n We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Senior Site Engineer to oversee and coordinate construction activities across assigned project sites.\n\n The successful candidate will ensure that projects are executed in accordance with approved drawings, engineering specifications, quality standards, budgets and project timelines.\n\n The ideal candidate must have strong technical expertise, excellent leadership abilities and extensive hands-on experience managing construction teams, subcontractors and site operations, particularly in high-end residential and real estate developments.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nSite Operations and Supervision:\n\n Oversee daily construction activities and ensure work is executed according to approved drawings and specifications.\n\n Coordinate and supervise site engineers, supervisors, foremen, artisans and subcontractors.\n\n Ensure adequate manpower, materials, tools and equipment are available for scheduled activities.\n\n Monitor site progress and ensure project milestones are achieved.\n\n Ensure proper coordination of all construction activities across assigned sites.\n\nTechnical and Engineering Management:\n\n Interpret and implement architectural, structural and Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) drawings.\n\n Identify and resolve technical challenges arising during construction.\n\n Review construction methods and provide practical engineering recommendations.\n\n Ensure accurate setting-out, measurements and execution of works.\n\n Liaise with consultants and relevant professionals on technical matters.\n\nQuality Control and Assurance:\n\n Ensure all construction activities meet approved quality standards and specifications.\n\n Conduct regular site inspections to identify defective or substandard work.\n\n Ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.\n\n Maintain proper records of inspections, tests and quality-related reports.\n\n Ensure materials and workmanship meet project requirements.\n\nProject Planning and Execution:\n\n Develop and implement site work plans in line with approved project schedules.\n\n Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to management.\n\n Identify potential delays and recommend solutions to prevent project disruptions.\n\n Coordinate with the Quantity Surveying, Procurement, Architectural and other relevant departments.\n\n Ensure efficient execution of construction activities within approved timelines and budgets.\n\nHealth, Safety and Environmental Compliance:\n\n Enforce compliance with site safety regulations and company HSE policies.\n\n Ensure workers use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).\n\n Identify site hazards and ensure appropriate control measures are implemented.\n\n Report accidents, incidents and unsafe practices promptly.\n\n Promote a safe and organised working environment across all assigned sites.\n\nMaterials and Resource Management:\n\n Monitor the use of construction materials and minimise wastage.\n\n Verify materials delivered to site against approved specifications and quantities.\n\n Coordinate material requirements with the Procurement and Store teams.\n\n Ensure proper use, handling and maintenance of construction equipment and tools.\n\n Monitor site resources to ensure cost-effective utilisation.\n\nReporting and Documentation:\n\n Prepare daily, weekly and monthly site progress reports.\n\n Maintain accurate records of labour attendance, materials, equipment and work completed.\n\n Document site challenges, technical instructions, variations and resolutions.\n\n Escalate critical project issues to the Head of Construction and Management.\n\n Maintain proper project documentation for accountability and reference.\n\nTeam Leadership and Coordination:\n\n Provide technical guidance and supervision to site personnel.\n\n Allocate responsibilities and monitor the performance of site teams.\n\n Promote discipline, accountability and effective communication across the site.\n\n Ensure artisans, subcontractors and workers comply with approved work schedules and construction standards.\n\n Mentor junior engineers and other technical personnel.\n\nQualifications and Requirements\n\n Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Building Engineering or a related discipline.\n\n Minimum of 10 years' proven experience in construction and site engineering.\n\n Professional registration with COREN or other relevant professional bodies is an advantage.\n\n Extensive experience supervising medium- to large-scale construction projects.\n\n Strong knowledge of structural works, building construction methods and engineering standards.\n\n Ability to interpret architectural, structural and MEP drawings.\n\n Proven experience managing construction teams, subcontractors and multiple site activities.\n\n Strong understanding of construction safety standards and quality control procedures.\n\n Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant engineering or project management software.\n\n Excellent leadership, problem-solving, communication and reporting skills.\n\n Ability to work under pressure and meet strict project deadlines.\n\nRequired Competencies:\n\n Strong technical and engineering knowledge.\n\n Construction
