Our corporate philosophy allows us to develop skills, collaborate alongside our teammates, and ultimately have a fulfilling career.\nOVERVIEW\nThe Field Optimization Engineer is an integral member of an asset-based, multi-disciplinary team providing support to Field Operations, Facility Engineering, and Operations Engineering. This role focuses on day-to-day production optimization, pipeline and facility bottlenecking, well workovers, and Operating Cost reduction initiatives. This position will report to the Team Lead, Field Optimization Engineering.\nRESPONSIBILITIES \nGENERAL\nPrimary contact for the Calgary Operations Engineers and Field Operations as it relates to base production; artificial lift, gathering systems, production optimization and operating costs\n\nSafety and Regulatory - ensure safe and compliant operations\n\nCost Control - plan, track and optimize all capital and operating cost projects\n\nProgram execution - liaise with Calgary Operations and Field Operations to identify risks to capital program and develop mitigation strategies\n\nPRODUCTION\nOptimize base production through monitoring of flowing pressures, plunger cycles, pump speeds, gas lift conditions and fluid levels\n\nSupport growth production plans while minimizing impacts to base production\n\nDesign and optimize artificial lift systems on new and existing wells\n\nIdentify and support small facility projects to optimize well production\n\nWORKOVERS\nIdentify workover candidates through production data analysis and failure trends\n\nPrepare well programs and raise AFEs for execution\n\nManage artificial lift installations; serve as the on-call engineer during execution\n\nReview post-workover results, optimize well performance, and document lessons learned for continuous improvement\n\nOPERATING COSTS\nUnderstand area and well operating costs; focus on the controllable cost drivers\n\nWork within the team to improve operating costs through cost reduction or production improvement\n\nFACILITIES\nIdentify optimization opportunities in gathering systems and facilities to support base and growth production, work with Field Operations and Facilities Engineering on scope and execution plan\n\nLiaise with Facility Engineer for project design and cost control\n\nQUALIFICATIONS\nSelf-starter, hard working with a strong production and completions background\n\nFacility experience is beneficial but not a requirement\n\nGood communication skills and works well in a team environment\n\nThis position is based in Whitecourt, Alberta","description_format":"text","description_chars":3580,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":null,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Energy & Utilities","Financial Services","Professional Services"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-24T21:46:28Z"}],"liveness":{"score":83,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.828,"p_room":1,"age_days":6,"expected_fill_days":42,"reasons":["conf:2","win:early"],"computed_at":"2026-09-24T23:49:33Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/whitecap-resources-inc-senior-field-optimization-engineer","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/whitecap-resources-inc-senior-field-optimization-engineer.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-09-24T23:49:33Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","usage":{"tier":"crawler","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":1949,"day_limit":5000,"remaining_today":3051,"minute_limit":60,"resets_at":"2026-09-25T00:00:00Z"}}}
