S/He is expected to use leading-edge development practices and to leverage on cutting-edge technologies.\nPRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES \nList, in order of importance, the five to six essential functions, key activities and decision-making areas of the job. It may help to specify the typical target(s) and how success will be measured for each activity.\nSupports the translation of user requirements from SBC's business unit into software requirements to ensure the applications adequately meet their needs\nDesigns, develops, tests, debugs, maintains and improves IT business applications as a member of the engineering team\nDelivers API solutions that streamline, simplify and improve SBC's operations/products; Produces fully functional, robust and scalable code which is well written/documented\nDevelops software and tools in support of design, infrastructure and technology platforms, including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases, cloud-based and Internet related tools\nScales system sustainably through mechanisms like automation, and evolves systems by motivating changes that improve reliability and velocity\nResearches, trains and advocates novel technologies and tools to ensure the latest trends and developments are considered as part of SBC's tech platforms, applications and etc.\nSupports a positive and collaborative digital delivery culture with a philosophy of continuous improvement, development, innovation and excellence, while remaining in compliance with the bank’s policies and procedures and upholding the highest standards of professional conduct. \nPreferred Certification/Professional License (if applicable): \nAny programming language certification (such as Oracle Java SE 8 and above Developer, VB.NET Developer Ceritification)\nAny cloud developer certification (such as AWS Certified Developer - Associate, Azure Developer Associate)\nCertified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)\nRequired Field of Specialization (if applicable): \nStrong analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills \nStrong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or as part of a team\nStrong understanding of any agile software development methodologies and clean code practices\nStrong understanding of test-driven development (TDD) or behavior-driven development (BDD) and unit testing frameworks\nStrong understanding of security principles and secure code practices\nStrong understanding of API services and microservices development using REST and/or SOAP\nStrong software development skills on at least one programming language (such as but not limited to C#/VB.NET, Java, Python, Go, Ruby, Rust, PHP, AS400/RPGLE, CLP, CLLE, and ETL Tools), and adaptability or experience in a second programming language or development on low-code/no-code platforms\nExperience with backend frameworks (such as Java Spring, or C# ASP.NET Core) \nExperience with web frontend frameworks (such as React.js, Next.js), with experience on React Native for mobile development preferred.\nExperience with SQL databases (such as Oracle, PostgreSQL), with experience on document databases (such as MongoDB) preferred.\nExperience with application development for cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization platforms\nExperience with development tools (such as Maven, Eclipse, Visual Studio, Postman, SOAP UI) and version control tools (such as Git, Subversion)\nExperience with object-oriented design and development, design patterns and software architecture\nPreferred Field of Specialization (if applicable): \nKnowledge of continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) practices\nKnowledge of any industry-specific regulations and compliance requirements\nKnowledge of banking
