Painter

Whitewater is seeking a skilled painter to join the maintenance team within the Facilities Department. The painter will be expected to have a great attention to detail, use color theory principles to match shades, follow written and verbal instructions and use a variety of tools to paint different surfaces. The painter will work in a variety of elements, to include both indoor and outdoor settings. The role is an on-site, full-time hourly position that reports to the Maintenance Manager.

Responsibilities

• Select correct tools, paints or stains for projects.
• Properly prepare walls and other surfaces prior to painting or staining.
• Mix and apply paints, varnishes, and sealants for a quality and lasting finish.
• Always follow workplace safety standards.
• Keep workspace clean and organized.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Prior painting experience in residential or commercial environments.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and other Whitewater events as needed.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to work outdoors for sustained periods of time in all weather and environmental conditions.
• Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds.
• Must be able to bend, stand, lean, and kneel on a regular basis and for sustained periods of time.
• Must be able to safely self-transport over uneven terrain or in a confined space.
• Must be able to work in shared spaces with other employees and customers.
• All positions as Whitewater require employees to report and work onsite at Whitewater locations.

Overview of Department

The Facilities Department is responsible for facility maintenance, water systems, landscaping, and trail development. The department oversees inspections, repairs, maintenance, and safety of the Whitewater Center’s activities and infrastructure.
