We’re looking for professionals who think like owners and want to be part of shaping a high-growth firm.\nPosition Details:\nTitle: Tax Manager\nClassification: Full-time; Exempt\nDepartment: Tax\nOffice Expectations/Hours: Hybrid; general work schedule is Monday - Friday, 8 hours/day between 8am to 5pm with overtime, as needed.\nWhat You Will Do\nAssume responsibility for all phases of engagements, including supervision of associates, managing client satisfaction and planning, scheduling and staffing, using firm policies and procedures.\nReview and/or prepare 1065, 1040, 1120, and 1120S tax returns, quarterly estimates, extensions and year-end projections.\nReview and/or prepare various types of complex tax returns; perform technical tax review and approval of all tax returns and governmental tax examinations of any complexity. \nIdentify and research technical issues to assure compliance with federal, state and local tax laws and regulations. \nEnsure that financial statements, tax returns and other deliverables are prepared in accordance with professional and firm standards.\nDelegate and manage governmental tax examinations; may represent the client before the appropriate taxing authorities.\nServe clients in a consultative role with an emphasis on exceptional client service and identification of value-added services; proactively interact with key client management to gather information, resolve problems and make recommendations for business and process improvements. \nOwn and monitor client relationship over the entire engagement process; communicate progress of engagements, problems, and resolutions to client.\nWhat You Need to Get Here\n5+ years of Public Accounting experience\nActive CPA license\nBachelor's degree in Accounting; Master's degree preferred\nA professional appearance, demeanor, and positive attitude.\nExtensive knowledge of Internal Revenue Code and other tax laws, regulations, and guidance with the ability to research and apply theory and experience to individual circumstances.\nStrong organizational and time management skills; ability to manage multiple engagements and projects, simultaneously.\nAbility to assess, analyze and manage risk using appropriate frameworks, professional judgment, and skepticism.\nExcellent communication skills, both orally and in writing; actively listens and clearly communicates ideas and information.\nAbility to lead and work respectfully and productively with diverse individuals in a variety of roles.\nWhy Whitley Penn\nOur total rewards are incredibly competitive.
