The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading the safe, efficient, and effective operation of an assigned manufacturing department or shift. This frontline leadership role provides day-to-day direction to hourly union employees to ensure production objectives are achieved while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, productivity, and employee engagement.\nThe Production Supervisor executes established operational plans, develops employee performance, resolves routine operational and employee issues, and partners with support functions to maintain efficient manufacturing operations. This role serves as the foundation of frontline leadership and develops the knowledge, judgment, and leadership capabilities necessary for progression to broader levels of operational leadership.\nThis role is located in Montpelier, Ohio (GX) and will be fully on-site.\nResponsibilities\nRole TitleResponsibilities:\nOperational Leadership\nDirect daily production activities to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity objectives. \nCoordinate staffing, work assignments, and production priorities to meet production requirements. \nMonitor production performance and implement corrective actions to address routine operational issues. \nEnsure adherence to production schedules, standard work, and operating procedures. \nEmployee Development & Engagement\nCoach, develop and support employees through performance feedback and training. \nPromote accountability, teamwork, and respect. \nFoster employee engagement and recognition. \nProblem Solving & Decision Making\nResolve routine operational, quality, staffing, and employee concerns using established policies and procedures. \nIdentify process issues and implement practical solutions. \nEscalate complex situations appropriately. \nContinuous Improvement\nSupport Lean and continuous improvement initiatives. \nParticipate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities. \nEncourage employee involvement in process improvements. \nSafety & Compliance\nPromote a safe work environment and regulatory compliance. \nConduct safety observations and address hazards. \nEnsure adherence to quality and operational standards. \nEmployee & Labor Relations\nAdminister company policies consistently. \nAddress attendance, performance, and conduct concerns. \nPartner with Human Resources regarding employee relations matters and labor agreement administration as applicable. \nCross-Functional Collaboration\nAdminister company policies consistently. \nAddress attendance, performance, and conduct concerns. \nPartner with Human Resources regarding employee relations matters and labor agreement administration as applicable. \n\nRole Title Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree required or experiential equivalent \n3 years of progressive manufacturing experience \nDemonstrated ability to lead daily manufacturing operations while achieving safety, quality, productivity, and delivery objectives. \nWorking knowledge of manufacturing processes, production scheduling, quality systems, and operational performance metrics. \nBasic knowledge of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles. \nExperience administering company policies and supporting employee performance management. \nStrong communication, organization, coaching, and problem-solving skills. \nProficiency with Microsoft Office and manufacturing reporting systems. \nQualifications\nJoining Wieland’s team gives you…\nBenefits - Starting on Day 1!
