The Operational Buyer will be responsible for ensuring maximum procurement leverage using the appropriate amount of consolidation of an entity and region, demand. This position will assume a leadership role in the development of site category strategies that align with the Company and Business Unit's overall procurement strategy. This role is located in Montpelier, OH and will be fully on-site. While this role is local, occasional travel to other locations will be required (10% travel).\nResponsibilities\nOperational BuyerResponsibilities:\nAnalyze the requirement requests from demand sources and clarify queries directly with responsible internal owners and preparation of suitable quoting or ordering documents.\nIdentify new potential suppliers in consultation with the Strategic Buyer and lead local strategic supplier initiatives.\nOversee quotation process by monitoring quotation returns and evaluate quotations commercially and, if necessary, technically.\nIndependently analyze and negotiate prices and payment conditions or other general conditions for ordering with suppliers.\nPartner with the requirement owner to identify the most suitable supplier based on cost, quality, delivery, and service on the initiation of the order.\nManage the entire ordering process, from the purchase requisition by the demand side to the resolution of invoice discrepancies.\nPreparation of data for negotiations by Leadership and Strategic Buyers on a National Level.\nIdentifies and resolves moderate issues and problems on assigned contracts and purchase orders.\nOn a case-by-case basis, assumption of special tasks, such as minor enhancements in the ERP system of the Procurement department or other assigned tasks.\nOperational Buyer Qualifications:\nB.S. Degree in Business or technical-related discipline or equivalent work experience.\n1-3 years of professional experience in procurement, indirect materials, supplier relations, manufacturing environments, stakeholder engagement, and/or use of E-Catalogs.\nKnowledge of the products procured and the supplier base, as well as the processes.\nProcurement tracking and negotiations require advocacy with other divisions and suppliers for varying objects.\nStrong computer skills including Microsoft Office, SAP, and related systems.\nAttention to detail and accuracy.\nAbility to communicate effectively both verbally and written throughout the organization and suppliers.\nExcellent organizational skills.\nTravel approximately 10% of the time.\nQualifications\nJoining Wieland’s team gives you…\nBenefits - Starting on Day 1!
