The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in structural engineering principles, a passion for technical design, and a keen interest in integrated design and delivery processes. The position will work closely with senior engineers and other team members to deliver high-quality projects that meet client goals and adhere to the firm’s standards. Potential candidates should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a passion for high quality design and collaborative processes. This position requires understanding of all project phases including schematic design, design development, construction documents and construction contract administration. \nTechnical Responsibilities:\nEstablishment of project design criteria, procedures and processes.\nPerform structural engineering analysis, design, and calculations for vertical building structures with guidance of a senior engineer.\nAnalysis and design of structural steel, concrete, wood and masonry framing systems for vertical building structures.\nParticipation in submittal of documentation for permitting/regulatory review with multiple local agencies and jurisdictions.\nUtilization of the latest structural engineering analysis and design software.\nUtilization of Autodesk Revit Structure building information modeling (BIM) software.\nCore Responsibilities: \nLead the preparation of design documentation including BIM models, drawings, and specifications under the guidance of senior engineers.\nConduct research on materials, products, building codes, systems, and sustainable design practices to inform project decisions.\nCollaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams, including architecture, sustainability, construction, and other consultants, to support the integrated delivery of projects.\nEvaluate system selection based on analysis of multiple design options and established constraints.\nClearly and concisely convey technical solutions and performance objectives while ensuring complete project alignment with client goals, project design, sustainability objectives, schedule, budget, constructability and post-occupancy performance.\nPerform onsite surveys of existing building conditions and documenting field measurements and observations.\nPerform construction phase activities including submittal review and construction site observations.\nParticipate in cross-discipline career development. Engage in continuous learning opportunities, attend industry events, and participate in internal training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.\nAdapt to various roles within a project and perform at a high level. Proactively accept tasks beyond the primary scope and adjust to changing priorities to ensure project success, team collaboration, and firm excellence.\nRequirements:\n Education: Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from ABET accredited structural engineering program. Master of Science (MS) degree from ABET accredited structural engineering program a plus.\nExperience: 6-10 years of full-time structural engineering experience in an engineering firm, with exposure to analysis, design, and documentation for vertical building projects utilizing structural steel, reinforced concrete, wood and masonry framing systems.\nKnowledge: IBC, ASCE and ICC Building Codes and Standards required.\n Licensing and Certification: Successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (F.E.) exam and EIT Certification required. Structural Engineer (S.E.) license preferred. \nSkills: critical thinking, analytical problem-solving skills, technical expertise, attention to detail, adaptability, effective communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.\nPassion: A genuine interest in integrated design and delivery, with a commitment to professional growth and development.\nSalary Range: $100,000 - $135,000.
