We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Engineering team and make a meaningful impact on how authors worldwide submit and manage research that drives scientific this is a senior-level role we value the right skills mindset and sense of ownership over years of experience alone.\nHow will you make an impact:Architect design develop and maintain key systems and features.\n\nHelp the Software Quality Assurance team as part of the Scrum team to deliver high-quality releases on time.\n\nLearn and follow Agile Scrum methodology for software development and participate in Scrum ceremonies.\n\nTroubleshoot issues in systems under test and production environments.\n\nConduct design and code reviews.\n\nWork with back-end APIs and components.\n\nContinuously improve code quality by performing refactoring and managing technical debt.\n\nDemonstrate willingness to work with team members from different regions countries and time zones.\n\nAbility to debug issues efficiently and effectively.\n\nWhat we look for:\nBachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field.\n\nStrong organizational skills and oral/written communication skills in English.\n\n5 years of experience in Java development including related technologies with a strong grasp of object-oriented design and core programming fundamentals.\n\n5 years of non-internship professional software development experience.\n\nAbility to define and manage repository structure and branching strategies while conducting thorough code reviews to ensure high coding standards and maintainable software.\n\nHands-on experience with the Spring framework and Hibernate.\n\nFamiliarity with writing unit tests using tools such as JUnit Mockito etc.\n\nExperience building RESTful APIs and web services is a plus.\n\nExperience with JMS.\n\nFamiliarity with version control systems like Git is required and hands-on experience with Linux operating systems is desirable.\n\nStrong object-oriented software analysis and analytical skills.\n\nGood understanding of relational databases.\n\nTeam player who enjoys working in a dynamic environment and has a positive attitude toward learning new things.\n\nDemonstrated ability to balance and prioritize activities to ensure critical items are completed.\n\nDesired Skills That Will Help You Thrive in This PositionStrong experience with SQL Server or similar RDBMS is required.\n\nFamiliarity with Sass.\n\nExperience with Jenkins GitHub Actions or GCP is a plus.\n\nFamiliarity with Agile Scrum methodology for software development.\n\nExperience troubleshooting production incidents performing root cause analysis and addressing performance bottlenecks to improve system stability.\n\nFamiliarity with XML technologies (XQuery XSLT etc.) as well as RDF and SPARQL is a plus.\n\nWe power infinite possibilities.\nFor more than 200 years weve transformed knowledge into discoveries that shape the world.
