Mason School of Business at William & Mary is recruiting a pool of Adjunct Faculty (Section Leads) to lead one or more 7.5-week asynchronous course sections within the Online Master of Science in Business Analytics and Online MBA programs. Please visit the following website to learn more about these program: https://online.mason.wm.edu/Section Leads serve a vital role within our online programs and are valued members of the Raymond A. Mason School of Business (MSOB) and the William & Mary community. Under the supervision of the Faculty Lead, Section Leads facilitate their assigned course section(s) by posting course announcements, engaging in discussion boards, offering weekly office hours, responding to student inquiries, monitoring student progress, grading student assignments, and providing students with substantive, timely feedback. Section Leads are provided with professional learning opportunities and are invited to attend on-campus events.\nJob Description:\nPosition duties include:\nMaintain frequent and open communication with William & Mary faculty and staff through email, mail, telephone, and any other medium deemed appropriate. \nComplete online instructor orientation and technology training before teaching online for the Mason School and complete continuing training each year after. \nReview course syllabus, content, activities, and assignments prior to the term start date. \nAdhere to the course design, instructional and grading guidelines, and due dates. \nPost a minimum of two weekly announcements relevant to the course content and learning activities. \nRespond to student inquiries within 24 hours. \nProvide students with timely, personalized, and substantive feedback on graded assignment submissions. \nGrade assignments and exams in a timely manner based on the instructions/rubrics provided by the Faculty Lead (48 - 72 hours). \nMonitor and participate in weekly discussion boards. \nOffer virtual office hours (drop-in or by appointment) totaling at least one hour per week for individual or group consultation and communicate this information through announcements and the course calendar. \nMonitor student progress and notify the Faculty Lead when a student is unresponsive or at risk of failing. \nMeet weekly with the Faculty Lead during regularly scheduled calls throughout the course. \nSubmit final grades to the Faculty Lead according to William & Mary and Mason School grading policies and the Online Programs calendar. \nSubmit Section Lead end-of-semester reflection form and attend debriefing meetings as applicable. \nSection Leads typically spend 15 to 20 hours per week on the duties listed above. \nRequired Qualifications: Please make sure your cover letter and resume clearly indicate how you meet the following required qualifications:\nMaster’s degree in business/data analytics, computer science, industrial engineering, information systems, information technology, operations management, operations research, or a closely related field. \nSignificant expertise and relevant professional and/or instructional experience in business/data analytics, computer science, industrial engineering, information systems, information technology, operations management, operations research, or a closely related field. \nExperience providing instruction to adult learners in an academic or corporate setting. \nDemonstrated excellence in communicating and collaborating in digital environments. \nDemonstrated commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for a diverse student population. \nDemonstrated commitment to upholding William & Mary’s historic reputation for academic excellence and innovation. \nPreferred Qualifications: Please make sure your cover letter and resume clearly indicate whether you meet any of the preferred qualifications:\nDoctoral degree directly related to the discipline. \nDemonstrated excellence teaching adult learners in a professional degree program. \nExperience providing online instruction. \nEnthusiasm for delivering education in an online mode. \nProficiency using video conferencing technologies and web-based collaboration platforms. \nExperience using Canvas or a similar learning management system. \nOther details:\nFor full consideration, please upload a Resume, Cover Letter, Teaching Statement, and Unofficial Transcripts reflecting a degree associated with the subject area being taught. \nThe review of applications is ongoing, and only those selected for an interview will be contacted. \nHired candidates are required to provide official transcripts prior to the contracted start date. \nThis part-time position is restricted to the term in which it is assigned and hired and is not eligible for benefits. \nThis position is not eligible for work visa sponsorship. \nAdditional Job Description:\nJob Profile:\nJP0738 - Adjunct Professor NTE - Exempt - Salary - S99Qualifications:\nCompensation Grade:\nS99Recruiting Start Date:\n2026-07-01Position Restrictions:\nRestricted TermEEO is the Law.
