The Project Engineer (Aerospace/ Defense) who wants to apply their design, manufacturing, and project management expertise in a strategic role on an Integrated Manufacturing Process and Product Development Team (IMPPDT) for a new commercial turbine engine. This is an exciting opportunity to help lead and shape the development of future products from concept to production and have a high degree of ownership over the project and product..\nThe Project Engineer will:\nPlan and track project schedules to meet key project milestones\nCoordinate with cross functional teams to help lead the project through the design, manufacturing, testing, and certification phases of the product lifecycle\nDefine and manage day-to-day task assignments of the engineering team, estimate time to complete, assign, guide and track progress to drive closure\nDefine technical requirements for the product and manage validation and verification activities\nTrack and report on production cost estimates for the product and production readiness\nTrack and report on project budget\nTrack program risks and plan risk reduction activities including testing\nSupport DFMEA/PFMEA analysis\nProvide guidance and mentorship to newer engineers\nCreate and manage the ordering of hardware for required testing\nLead continuous improvement efforts to improve all aspects of the product lifecycle\nCreate and review technical reports\nCreate presentations for management on project status\nQualifications\nBachelor’s Degree in Engineering required. Master’s Degree in Engineering preferred. \n5+ years of relevant engineering experience\nDemonstrated understanding of the principles of gas turbine systems\nExperience managing engineering projects in aerospace/defense or a similar industry\nExperience managing engineering tasks, schedules, and budgets\nWorking knowledge of manufacturing methods, materials & processes, mechanical design, aerodynamics, and thermodynamic cycles\nExperience in all phases of the product life cycle: conceptual design, detail design and optimization, testing, and certification\nExperience with new product development and introduction\nStrong oral and written communication skills\nBe able to work independently and execute multiple tasks simultaneously\nExperience with Microsoft Project (or similar) project management software\nExperience with DOORs (or similar) requirements management software\nExperience with FAA 14 CFR Part 33 certification requirements is a plus\nExperience with Earned Value Management (EVM) is a plus\nU.S. citizenship is required\nPosition requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, if needed.
