It is a hands-on, high-ownership team where engineers work end to end - designing systems, integrating with WMS and TMS platforms, and applying automation and AI to improve how our distribution network runs every day.\nRole Overview\nThe Staff Software Engineer will be responsible for leading the design, development, and delivery of enterprise-grade, scalable microservices applications supporting Logistics and Warehouse Management Systems. This role requires strong technical leadership, hands-on development expertise, and close collaboration with cross-functional business and technology teams, including third-party vendors such as Manhattan Associates.\nImpact of the Role\nProvide technical leadership for the Logistics domain - monitoring, alerting, incident triage, and root-cause resolution.\nLead integrations across Warehouse Management, Transportation Management, Slotting, and Labor Management systems and Distribution Center operations.\nPartner with business stakeholders and third-party vendors such as Manhattan Associates to translate logistics requirements into scalable technical solutions.\nIdentify and deliver AI and automation opportunities that improve Logistics operations, production support, and business-user productivity.\nDrive Agile delivery - sprint planning, estimation, and delivery tracking - and mentor engineers to raise the bar across the team.\nQualifications\n10+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 3 years as a Java Lead.\nProven track record delivering enterprise-scale microservices applications in a retail, supply chain, or logistics environment.\nExperience delivering in Agile environments using Jira for sprint planning, estimation, and delivery tracking.\nStrong knowledge of logistics, warehouse management, and Distribution Center operations.\nHands-on experience integrating with Manhattan WMOS, Transportation Management Systems, Manhattan Slotting, and Labor Management systems.\nExperience leading third-party vendor integrations, integration platforms, and enterprise web services.\nStrong business acumen with the ability to align technology solutions to revenue and operational goals.\nExtensive hands-on experience with Java, JavaEE, Spring Boot, Spring MVC/WebFlux, Microservices, and Kafka.\nProficiency with RESTful web services, JPA, SLF4J logging, and application configuration management.\nStrong relational database skills across DB2, SQL Server, and Oracle.\nExperience with containerized platforms such as Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.\nWorking knowledge of secure coding standards, Git repository and branching strategies, and code quality tools such as Sonar.\nProficiency with monitoring and observability tools such as AppDynamics, Splunk, ELK, and Grafana, including alert and notification setup.\nProficiency with Enterprise Integration Systems architecture using Kafka, MQ, TCP/IP, file systems, etc.\nStrong AI-first mindset.\nExperience using AI tools, AI agents, and automation platforms to improve operations, production support, data validation, reporting, testing, and documentation.\nAbility to design AI-agent-led solutions for use cases such as issue triage, exception monitoring, report generation, knowledge retrieval, regression testing support, and operational analytics.\nUnderstanding of responsible AI practices, including data privacy, security, auditability, compliance, and validation of AI-generated outputs.\nDemonstrated situational leadership -
