Atlassian Williams F1 Team is one of the world’s leading Formula 1 teams. It exists purely to race in the top echelon of motor racing.

At Atlassian Williams F1 Team, our Industrial Placement gives ambitious students 12 months inside Formula 1. You'll take on real responsibility with projects that shape the future car and our business. Grow with a cohort from day one, then head back to uni with experience you can apply immediately. Join a high-performance team, push boundaries, make an impact.

The Operations Office is responsible for the programme management, manufacture and delivery of our Formula 1 cars to our customer, the Race Team. The functional departments within the Operations team work together to ensure that car components are manufactured/supplied to the right specification, quality and delivered on time to be transported to the Race Team.

As an Industrial Placement in Direct Procurement, during your 12-month placement you'll help buy the real parts that go on the current and future car - technically complex components made to Williams' specifications by specialist suppliers, to the standards required for optimum performance, reliability and safety. You'll sit with the Direct Procurement team and take on live work that keeps the build, testing and race calendar moving.

Day to day, you'll:

  • Source and purchase components linked directly to car build and performance

  • Raise purchase orders and manage order confirmations, delivery schedules and supplier communication

  • Track the status of parts so deadlines are met for build phases, testing and race events

  • Support supplier performance reviews, data analysis and issue resolution

  • Analyse quotes, cost breakdowns and commercial data to support negotiations

Each part that arrives to specification, on budget and on time is another step towards our common goal. The work needs accountability and close teamwork with suppliers and engineers across the business.
