With a network of 10 centres, we continue to grow and are seeking a Credit Controller to join our Head Office finance team.\nWhy this role matters:\nYou will help protect cash flow, reduce debtor days and minimise bad debt exposure, while building constructive relationships with customers, branches and senior colleagues across the Group.\nTHE OPPORTUNITY\nTake ownership of an accurate Group debtors ledger and lead the escalation of difficult or overdue accounts.\nWork closely with branches and customers to resolve disputes, secure payment and ensure daily receipts are recorded accurately.\nInfluence business processes, identify weaknesses in terms and conditions, and develop practical improvements.\nSupport, train and coordinate less experienced colleagues across the branch network.\nHOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT\nMaintain an accurate Group debtors ledger and distribute the daily Out of Terms report, following up with local teams.\nManage problem debt that branches cannot resolve and involve the Financial Controller or Finance Director where necessary.\nContact customers by telephone, email and written correspondence; initiate court or other recovery action where required.\nChallenge customer positions professionally, liaise with branches and protect positive commercial relationships.\nWork with branches on large invoices, suggest process improvements and identify issues in terms and conditions.\nMaintain the bad and doubtful debt register and respond clearly to audit queries.\nWHAT YOU WILL BRING\nESSENTIAL\nMinimum two years’ credit control experience\nExperience working with legal advisers on debt recovery\nExperience attending court to pursue or defend customer debt\nExcellent telephone and written communication skills\nAdvanced Excel: PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, reporting and analysis\nDESIRABLE\nMembership of the Chartered Institute of Credit Management, Institute of Accounting Technicians or a similar professional body\nExperience mentoring and training colleagues\nPractical use of AI to investigate issues, automate tasks or create agents\nTHE QUALITIES THAT SET YOU APART\nConfidence & resilience\nCommercial awareness\nProblem-solving\nProfessionalism & integrity\nClear communication\nIndependent working\nProactive & results-focused\nYOUR WORKING ENVIRONMENT\nYou will join an eight-person Finance Team based in Belfast and work with colleagues across general accounting, banking and legal matters. The role is full-time and office-based.
