In your role, you'll be instrumental in making a real impact in the communities we serve, embodying our purpose every day.\nOverview\nPosition is On-site\nJob Summary\nA Software Developer researches and analyzes business requirements and user specifications to effectively design, code, test, document, and implement new and maintain existing software applications.\nTypical Duties and Responsibilities\nAnalyzes user specifications and requirements.\nAnalyzes, reviews, and alters programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements.\nGathers information from the end-user through conducting interviews and business process review.\nFormulates plan-and outlines the steps required--to develop program, using structured analysis and design.\nConverts project specifications into detailed instructions, tasks and logical steps for coding.\nPlans, code, tests, and documents software programs, applying knowledge of programming techniques.\nConsults with users to identify current operating procedures and clarify program objectives.\nIdentify, prioritize and execute tasks in the software development life cycle.\nDesigns and creates the user interface within application standards.\nDevelops tools and applications by producing clean, efficient code.\nAutomates tasks through appropriate tools and scripting.\nParticipates in code review, debugging and quality assurance.\nConducts thorough testing of software applications.\nTrouble-shoots and provides resolution to software issues.\nCollaborates with internal teams and vendors to maintain and improve software.\nEnsures software is up to date with latest technologies.\nEnhances development skills through reviewing technical manuals, periodicals, and participating in technical community forums.\nContributes as a member of a development team.\nRequirements\nEducation/Experience:\nBachelor’s degree in computer science, computer information systems or equivalent academic achievement or equivalent experience.\nKnowledge of Agile development methodologies.\nKnowledge of DevOps practices and tools.\nKnowledge of database analysis, design and normalization.\nKnowledge with data integration and data orchestration tools and related best-practices.\nKnowledge with service-oriented architectures.\nExperience with operating systems (Microsoft Windows)\nProficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)\nAbility to:\nWork effectively in a team-oriented environment, establishing and maintaining good rapport with co­workers, supervisors, and others.\nDemonstrate high level of quality in coding and testing applications.\nApply analytical and problem-solving skills\nComplete projects within expected deadlines or defined time estimates.\nDemonstrate strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills\nPerform all duties with efficiency and accuracy.\nPerform all tasks with integrity and confidentiality.\nBe self-directed and demonstrate time management skills.\nUtilize strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.\nWork independently on assigned tasks.\nServe in an on-call production support rotation to resolve problems.\nMachines and Equipment Operated:\nOffice machines (e.g., copy machine, computer terminal, telephone, fax, etc) and other devices.\nPreferred Credentials:\nIBM iSeries platform, RPG, CL, SQL, DB2, HTML, JavaScript, FTP, Rest API, XML & JSON, PHP, node.JS, C#.Net, Net, Java, MS SQL Server and modern other Web-oriented technologies.\nKnowledge of DevOps practices and tools for automation and integration of software development processes.\nKnowledge of Agile development methodologies.\nKnowledge of IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL).\nThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature of work performed by the employees assigned to this job.
