This is a hybrid, in-person program based in Palo Alto, CA, with start dates in May or June. Eligible candidates must be a current student enrolled in a degree program and intend to return to the program after the completion of the summer internship. \nAbout the Role:\nWing is looking for a Hardware ReliabilityIntern to join our Hardware Reliability based in Palo Alto, CA. Our team evaluates the reliability and durability of aircraft hardware, develops new tests, and performs failure analysis to constantly improve the robustness and reliability of our drone and ground infrastructure.\nIn this role you will: \nDesign test fixtures to stress, validate, and characterize aircraft subsystems under various environmental conditions\nSelect, build, and maintain data acquisition (DAQ) systems and automated test scripts\nPlan and execute testing for aircraft propulsion, camera, communications and power delivery systems\nHelp evaluate field failures and manufacturing issues through analysis and DOE\nCollecting and analyze field & test data for root cause analysis or failure replication\nAssess failure modes and create FMEAs to influence potential design improvements\nProduce procedures to reliably execute test plans\nWhat You’ll Need: \nCurrently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, graduating between December 2027 and August 2028\nProficiency in Python or similar programming language for instrument control or data analysis\nFamiliarity with power systems, electrical fundamentals, and test methodology for electromechanical systems\nComfortable with hands-on work in a lab, such as hardware testing and failure inspection\nAble to construct and follow a detailed hardware test plan\nFamiliarity with tools to acquire, log, and analyze data (e.g. temperature, force, current, voltage)\nAbility to work independently to investigate issues and communicate findings to cross-functional teams\nExperience debugging, troubleshooting, or investigating hardware failures\nStrong attention to detail for finding inconsistencies in data patterns and analyzing failed samples\nThe US base salary range for this internship position is the salary range below + benefits. Wing’s salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
