This is a hybrid, in-person program based in Palo Alto, CA, with start dates in May or June. Eligible candidates must be a current student enrolled in a degree program and intend to return to the program after the completion of the summer internship. \nAbout the Role:\nWing is looking for a Manufacturing EngineerIntern to join our Manufacturing Team based in Palo Alto, CA. Our team develops the manufacturing lines and processes that bring Wing's autonomous delivery fleet to life. As an intern, you will collaborate with our manufacturing lab and multidisciplinary engineering teams to to work on a high-impact summer project.\nIn this role you will: \nEvaluate hardware assemblies using Design for Assembly (DFA) principles and design CAD/prototype automation concepts for key assembly stations.\nValidate concepts through hands-on testing to reduce station cycle time, eliminate process bottlenecks, improve manufacturing process and lower overall manufacturing costs.\nGain valuable experience to jumpstart your career in the innovation industry and autonomous drone delivery industry. \nWhat You’ll Need: \nCurrently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field, graduating between December 2027 and August 2028\nStrong proficiency in 3D parametric CAD modeling (e.g., SolidWorks, NX, Creo, or Onshape).\nFoundational understanding of DFA / DFM principles, basic mechanical mechanisms, and manufacturing tolerances.\nHands-on prototyping experience (e.g., 3D printing, machine shop tools, electro-mechanical assembly, or robotics clubs/projects).\nProject experience with at least one relevant programming / scripting language (Python, C++)\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.\nThe US base salary range for this internship position is the salary range below + benefits. Wing’s salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
