If you're ready to do the greatest work of your life, come join us.\nAbout the Role\nWing is looking for a Policy Communications Lead to join our Communications team. This role is hybrid based in Palo Alto, CA or based remotely in the United States. You'll set and execute the communications strategy for how Wing engages the people who decide whether and where we can operate: federal regulators, state and local officials, community groups, and the reporters who cover them.\nAs drone delivery scales, public attention on noise, privacy, safety, and oversight is rising, and rules are increasingly written city by city. This is a senior individual-contributor role with broad scope and real influence. You'll lead without direct reports, working with Government Affairs, Legal, Policy, Marketing, Operations, and our retail and logistics partners to build a record that communities and officials can verify.\nWhat You'll Do\nOwn Wing's policy and regulatory communications strategy across federal, state, and local audiences\nAdvise senior leaders and executives on how Wing's public positioning affects permitting, legislation, and litigation\nPartner with Government Affairs and Legal to align messaging on rulemakings, legislation, litigation, and permitting proceedings, and know when to escalate\nBuild the community-facing evidence base (noise, flight volume, operating hours, data and privacy practices) with Operations, and keep it accurate and current\nPrepare executives and spokespeople for hearings, council meetings, and high-stakes media interviews\nLead issues and rapid-response communications when a market comes under scrutiny, including coordinating with partners on how Wing is described\nDevelop pre-launch and pre-permit outreach toolkits that market teams can use at scale\nMonitor policy, media, and community sentiment, and translate it into clear risk assessments and recommendations for leadership\nManage agency and consultant relationships for policy and issues communications\nBuild a network of credible third-party voices, including host communities, partners, and outside experts\nWhat You'll Need\n12+ years of experience in policy communications, public affairs, or issues management \nBachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience\nExperience scaling, operationalizing, or commercializing at a previous company \nA track record of leading communications strategy for regulatory, legislative, or other high-scrutiny issues, not only executing it\nExperience advising senior leaders and influencing cross-functional teams without formal authority\nExperience working with reporters on policy-driven or contested stories\nAbility to explain technical topics credibly without oversimplifying\nStrong judgment under pressure, including making calls with incomplete information and escalating appropriately to Legal and leadership\nThe US base salary range for this full-time position is the salary range below + bonus + equity + benefits.
