The Specialist exercises independent judgment and professional discretion in evaluating risk, interpreting regulations, developing policies, managing projects, and influencing operational decisions.\nThis role partners directly with plant leadership to identify risks, implement long-term solutions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that support regulatory compliance and operational excellence.\nKey Responsibilities\nProgram Ownership\nOwn assigned EHS programs and ensure regulatory compliance across all operational areas.\nDevelop, implement, and revise EHS policies, standards, procedures, and management systems.\nLead strategic EHS initiatives designed to reduce risk and improve performance.\nDrive implementation of corporate EHS objectives at the facility level.\nRegulatory Compliance & Technical Expertise\nInterpret OSHA, EPA, DOT, NFPA, ANSI and applicable state regulations.\nConduct compliance gap assessments and develop corrective action strategies.\nServe as facility liaison during regulatory inspections and agency interactions.\nLead environmental permitting, reporting, and compliance activities as assigned.\nRisk Management\nLead complex hazard assessments, JSAs/JHAs, industrial hygiene assessments, and ergonomic evaluations.\nEvaluate new equipment, process changes, facility modifications, and capital projects for EHS impacts.\nParticipate in Management of Change (MOC) reviews.\nRecommend engineering and administrative controls to reduce risk.\nIncident Investigation & Root Cause Analysis\nLead investigations involving serious injuries, high-risk near misses, property damage, and environmental incidents.\nFacilitate root cause analysis methodologies.\nDevelop corrective action strategies and verify effectiveness.\nPresent findings and recommendations to plant leadership.\nTraining & Leadership Development\nDevelop EHS curriculum and training strategies.\nProvide technical coaching to supervisors and managers.\nMentor EHS Coordinators and assist with professional development planning.\nLead safety culture initiatives and employee engagement efforts.\nData Analytics & Continuous Improvement\nAnalyze injury trends, leading indicators, audit findings, and compliance metrics.\nDevelop action plans based on data analysis.\nLead continuous improvement projects using Lean, A3, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.\nPresent performance and recommendations to senior leadership.\nQualifications\nEducation\n One of the following:\nBachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or related field;
