We are seeking a Splunk O11Y- Observability Engineer to lead the design, deployment, and enablement of observability capabilities across applications, infrastructure, and cloud environments.\nThis role focuses on instrumentation, telemetry pipeline engineering, service modeling, APM rollout, and onboarding new teams into the observability ecosystem. The engineer will work closely with application owners, SRE, DevOps, and platform engineering teams to deliver full-stack visibility and accelerate observability adoption.\nKey Responsibilities\nObservability Architecture & Implementation\nDesign and implement observability solutions using Splunk Observability Cloud (APM, Infrastructure Monitoring, RUM, Log Observer).\nBuild and optimize OpenTelemetry (OTel) collector pipelines for metrics, traces, and logs.\nDefine instrumentation strategies for applications (auto-instrumentation, SDKs, agents).\nDevelop service maps, dependency graphs, and distributed tracing configurations.\n͏\nApplication & Service Onboarding\nPartner with application teams to onboard services into O11y and ITSI.\nDefine SLIs/SLOs, KPIs, and service health indicators.\nBuild dashboards, detectors, alerts, and anomaly detection rules tailored to each service.\nEnsure consistent tagging, metadata, and observability standards across teams.\nITSI & Splunk Core Integration\nImplement ITSI service models, KPIs, correlation searches, and glass tables.\nIntegrate O11y telemetry with Splunk Enterprise and ITSI for unified service health.\nCollaborate with Splunk Core SMEs to align ingestion, retention, and data modeling.\nTelemetry Pipeline Engineering\nDeploy and configure OTel collectors across VMs, containers, Kubernetes, and cloud services.\nImplement processors, exporters, and routing logic for efficient telemetry flow.\nOptimize pipelines for performance, cost, and reliability.\nEnablement & Best Practices\nDevelop onboarding guides, instrumentation patterns, and observability standards.\nConduct workshops, demos, and training sessions for engineering teams.\nProvide architectural guidance on observability adoption across the enterprise.\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nWork with SRE, DevOps, Cloud, and Application teams to embed observability into CI/CD and deployment workflows.\nSupport modernization initiatives such as microservices, Kubernetes, and cloud migrations.\nInfluence platform roadmap and observability strategy.\nRequired Skills & Experience\nTechnical Skills\nHands-on experience implementing Splunk Observability Cloud (APM, Infra Monitoring, RUM, Log Observer).\nStrong understanding of OpenTelemetry (collectors, processors, exporters, instrumentation).\nExperience with distributed tracing, span analysis, and service dependency mapping.\nFamiliarity with Splunk Enterprise and ITSI for integrated observability use cases.\nStrong Linux/Unix skills and scripting (Python, Bash).\nExperience with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud platforms (AWS, and Azure).\nImplementation & Architecture Skills\nExperience designing observability solutions for microservices, APIs, and distributed systems.\nAbility to guide teams through instrumentation and telemetry onboarding.\nStrong understanding of SLIs/SLOs, service health scoring, and reliability engineering.\nSoft Skills\nExcellent communication and stakeholder-facing skills.\nAbility to lead workshops and influence engineering teams.\nStrong documentation and architectural thinking.\nPreferred Qualifications\nSplunk Observability or OTel certifications.\nExperience with Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, New Relic, or similar tools.\nFamiliarity with Terraform, Ansible, GitOps, or CI/CD pipelines.\nExperience in large enterprise, utilities, financial, or public sector environments.\n͏\nMandatory Skills: Splunk AIOPS.Experience: 5-8 Years\n.Reinvent your world.
