The operator is responsible for his/her personal safety and the safety of those around the closing machine.\nDuties & Responsibilities\nRecord set-up information at the start of an order.\nRemove empty bobbins from the previously completed order and load full bobbins using appropriate lifting devices and load the center in the let-off stand.\nThread the closing machine by pulling strands and center through the machine and secure a hitch to the previously completed rope, making sure strands are located properly at the pre-forming head.\nSet the proper rope-lay as required.\nSecure, install and adjust the proper dies, pre-forming head, crushing rollers, and post-forming roller as required by the order.\nAdjust tensions and die pressure at the beginning of an order and throughout the entire run.\nInspect and change tensioning devices as needed.\nInspect the set-change, including cutting a strand for helix-height measurement before requesting approval from the production supervisor.\nStart lube pump as required by the order.\nMaintain a safe and clean working environment.\nPerform all job duties in accordance with work instructions and quality standards.\nSupervisory Responsibility - None.\nRequired Qualifications\nHigh School Diploma, GED, or ability to demonstrate basic literacy and math proficiency through education, experience, or assessment\nMust possess math skills, mechanical aptitude, and have the ability to learn to use calipers, micrometers, tape measure, feeler gauge, and basic hand tools.\nMust be able to stand/walk on concrete floors for 10-12 - hour shifts\nMust be able to push / pull and lift up to 50 lbs.\nPreferred Qualifications\nPrevious manufacturing experience\nMaterials and Equipment Directly Used\nClosing machine, JDE TranCollector scan guns and printers, calipers, micrometers, and hand tools.\nPersonal protective equipment, including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and steel-toed safety shoes.\nEligibility\nMust be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.\nAn applicant must complete a satisfactory background check post-offer of employment.
