compliance framework, governance, culture, and operating model from the ground up.\nAbout the Role\nWe are looking for a hands-on and highly capable Compliance & AML Officerto support the Chief Operating & Risk Officer in establishing and maintaining Direct Crypto Limited's regulatory compliance and financial crime framework.\nThis is a foundational role with broad responsibility across regulatory compliance, AML/CFT, financial crime prevention, and regulatory readiness.\nYou will contribute directly to the development and implementation of the firm's compliance framework as Direct Crypto Limited progresses through its MiCA CASP authorization process and into ongoing regulated operations.\nThe role requires a high degree of independence, strong regulatory judgment, and the ability to work effectively in a newly established and evolving environment.\nCompliance & AML Framework\nDevelop, implement, maintain, and continuously enhance AML/CFT policies, procedures, and controls in line with MiCAR, AMLR, FATF recommendations, and applicable CySEC requirements.\nEstablish and maintain effective financial crime controls covering KYC, CDD, EDD, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and ongoing customer monitoring.\nMonitor regulatory developments across the EU and provide timely updates and guidance to management.\nSupport the preparation and submission of regulatory reports, suspicious transaction reports, and other mandatory regulatory disclosures.\nIdentify opportunities to strengthen the firm's compliance framework and control environment.\nRegulatory & Licensing Support\nSupport the CASP authorization and post-authorization process by preparing compliance documentation, policies, procedures, and regulatory responses.\nSupport regulatory inspections, audits, reviews, and information requests, ensuring documentation is accurate, complete, and readily available.\nAssist the CORO and Managing Director with engagement with CySEC and other relevant regulatory authorities.\nMaintain appropriate records and evidence demonstrating compliance with regulatory requirements.\nSupport the implementation of regulatory changes and related remediation activities.\nRisk Assessment & Reporting\nConduct and maintain the firm's Business-Wide Risk Assessment (BWRA).\nSupport the development and maintenance of Customer Risk Assessments (CRA)and related risk methodologies.\nIdentify, assess, document, and escalate compliance breaches, control weaknesses, and emerging financial crime and regulatory risks.\nPrepare clear and accurate compliance and AML reports for management and the Board.\nTrack compliance actions, remediation activities, and regulatory commitments through to completion.\nOperational Compliance\nProvide day-to-day compliance guidance to operational teams on customer onboarding, transaction monitoring, customer lifecycle management, and other compliance matters.\nReview and advise on higher-risk customers, transactions, and compliance cases.\nDeliver compliance and AML training and awareness programmes across the business.\nPromote a strong culture of compliance, financial crime prevention, and regulatory accountability.\nParticipate in relevant industry forums and represent Direct Crypto Limited and the Wirex Group professionally where required.\nEssential Experience & Skills\nMinimum 5 years of hands-on experiencein compliance, AML, or financial crime within a regulated financial services, payments, fintech, or crypto-asset environment.\nStrong practical knowledge of MiCAR, AMLR, EU AML requirements, FATF recommendations, and CySEC regulatory expectations.\nDemonstrable experience across KYC, CDD, EDD, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and financial crime controls.\nExperience supporting regulatory examinations, audits, inspections, or licensing/authorization processes.\nExperience developing, implementing, or enhancing compliance policies, procedures, and control frameworks.\nStrong analytical and investigative skills, with the ability to assess complex compliance and financial crime risks.\nExcellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.\nExcellent written and verbal English communication skills.\nCurrent residency in Cyprus is mandatory.\nPreferred\nProfessional certification such as ICA, ACAMS/CAMS, or an equivalent compliance or AML qualification.\nPrevious experience within a MiCA, CASP, EMI, payments, or other regulated financial services environment.\nExperience working directly with CySEC or another European financial regulator.\nFamiliarity with automated KYC, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, and compliance technology
