The role is responsible for proactively identifying, preventing, and mitigating fraudulent activities, chargebacks, and other financial crimes that may pose a risk to the organisation.\nThis role plays a key part in investigating financial crimes, safeguarding the organisation’s financial interests, and maintaining the trust of customers and stakeholders.\nThis position is open to candidates based in Malaysia.\nWe require someone who speaks and writes fluently in the English language.\nWe kindly request that all resumes are submitted in English, please.\nAnticipated start date: October 2026.\nWorking Hours & Schedule\n40 hours per week, typically 8 hours per day excluding meal breaks.\nWorking hours will fall within the operational window of 9:00am - 7:00pm.\nExact daily shifts will be determined by the company roster.\nThe role operates on a rostered five (5) days on, two (2) days off (5/2) schedule.\nSaturday and Sunday form part of the regular working week.\nWeekend working is therefore a permanent and essential requirement of the role.\nRest days will be scheduled during the week according to the team roster.\nKey Responsibilities\nReview suspicious or system-generated transaction alerts and make decisions based on fraud rules and guidelines.\nMonitor real-time transaction queues to identify high-risk activity and emerging fraud trends.\nAnalyse customer behaviour and transaction patterns to detect anomalies.\nIdentify fraud patterns such as card-not-present (CNP) fraud, hacked accounts, third-party fraud and friendly fraud.\nWork with rule-based fraud engines including rule structuring, testing and A/B testing.\nSupport data discovery and reporting for fraud KPIs and operational performance.\nPrepare and submit Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) where required.\nAnalyse key fraud risks and recommend improvements to reduce fraud exposure.\nRecommend system, analytics and operational improvements.\nContribute to projects that improve fraud detection and operational efficiency.\nExperience & Skills Required\nMinimum 3 years experience in fraud or financial crime within banking or fintech.\nExperience investigating fraud such as investment scams or APP fraud (advantageous).\nStrong analytical and investigative skills with high attention to detail.\nUnderstanding of crypto, online payments processing and payment platforms.\nStrong technical skills including Excel, SQL, Microsoft Office and PowerPoint.\nAbility to work in high-volume, fast-paced environments.\nAbility to translate complex data analysis into clear insights and recommendations.\nExperience with fraud tools such as Checkout, Chainalysis or similar platforms (beneficial).\nExperience in statistical analysis (advantageous).\nChargeback investigation experience (advantageous).\nWirex Behaviours\nPromotes collaboration and knowledge sharing.\nContributes to creating a positive team environment.\nPassionate about their area of expertise.\nTakes initiative and drives innovation for customers.\nSets and strives for high personal standards.\nWorks towards collective team success.\nInspires and supports others to succeed.\nBenefits\nGenerous annual leave plus public holidays.\nPaid charity day.\nFlexible working hours and remote working.\nCompany-provided equipment.\nAnnual training and development budget.\nOpportunity to grow your career within an innovative fintech.\nIf you believe you have the skills and experience we’re looking for, we’d love to hear from you.
