We are now looking for a Balance Sheet & Product Financials Controller to join our Finance Team in London. This role is a unique opportunity to have an impact on Wise’s mission by ensuring timely and accurate financial data as well as building mature processes and a scalable control environment.\nAs a Balance Sheet & Product Financials Controller, you will oversee the production of P&L and Balance Sheet for our core Wise products, ensuring that related controls have been executed and ultimately signing off on the Products Financial Statements. A list of some of the key responsibilities include:\nOwn the month-end close process for all of Wise’s core product offerings, executing and reviewing key controls.\n\nReview and challenge P&L and Balance Sheet commentaries prepared by the team explaining monthly/ quarterly variances;\n\nResponsible for functional ownership of SOX projects and remediation plans ensuring they are completed by their due dates;\n\nOwn and drive the Balance Sheet substantiation project ensuring policy and governance is in place to scale the program;\n\nDevelop E2E business and process documentation for the Core products bringing commercial aspects, risk and controls in one place.\n\nParticipate in the external audit by replying to external auditors’ questions and information requests;\n\nWork with Treasury in developing metrics around Balance Sheet usage across our Core products;\n\nIdentifying process gaps and take initiative to find solutions, in collaboration with other teams, both within and outside of Finance;\n\nOwn and drive team planning, actively highlighting key items to remediate that could impact accuracy of the financial statements;\n\nWork closely with wider finance teams and stakeholder management.\n\nA bit about you:\nSignificant experience (10+ years) in either financial controlling, financial audit, financial advisory or management accounting. You have a working knowledge of IFRS and/ or US GAAP.\nYou are a self-starter and can organise your own work.\nNot afraid of challenges and making decisions, can work autonomously and take initiative.\nCooperative attitude and ability to manage deadlines.\nYou are a great communicator. You can adapt your communication style to different audiences.
