We're hiring for one of our client products.\n\nAbout the Project\n\nAn AI-powered nutrition platform embedded in the clinical pathway, starting with chronic pain care. Patients use a mobile app to log meals, track symptoms, and chat with an AI nutrition assistant, while dietitians use a web app to build protocols and approve AI-drafted plans. \n\nAbout the Role\n\nYou will be the only front-end and mobile engineer, owning the patient mobile app and the dietitian web app end to end. You'll shape features together with the Founding Engineer and the Founders rather than wait for a detailed spec, and you'll see quickly how patients and dietitians respond to what you ship. Over six months, the role can grow into owning core AI features and protocol tools.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nDietitian web app\n\nImprove the clinician workflow: session notes, recipe library, and the front end for AI-assisted protocol generation\n\nBuild review-and-approve flows for AI-drafted protocols\n\nPatient mobile app (iOS and Android)\n\nOwn mobile releases to the App Store and Google Play (ramp-up on the release process is supported during the first month)\n\nImprove the UX around wearables integration, Voice AI features (UI), weight tracking, and recipe / grocery list navigation\n\nSuggest and drive product improvements, not just implement specs\n\nEngineering\n\nSet up CI, automated mobile builds, and tests, and ensure HIPAA-grade handling of patient data on the client\n\nEvolve interactive AI prototypes built by the CEO into production\n\nShip fixes and features for the clinics going live in November\n\nTech Stack\n\nReact Native, Expo, TypeScript, React 19, Vite, react-admin, MUI, React Navigation, TanStack Query, Zustand, MMKV, Sentry, Storybook, Style Dictionary, Jest, Vitest, Maestro, Playwright, Claude Code, Cursor, AWS (ECS, ECR, Bedrock), GitHub Actions\n\nRequirements\n\n5+ years building production apps with React Native and TypeScript\n\nExperience shipping to the App Store and Google Play (hands-on release experience is a plus; we'll help you ramp up)\n\nStrong React web experience (React 19, Vite; react-admin or MUI is a plus)\n\nExperience building UIs on top of AI services: streaming responses, slow or failed generations, review-and-approve flows\n\nDaily, fluent use of AI coding tools, and comfort vibe-coding a prototype with a non-engineer founder\n\nStrong product instinct: you turn a conversation into a good feature without a detailed spec\n\nNice to Have\n\nHealthKit or Health Connect (wearables integration is on the roadmap)\n\nOwning AI features end to end (prompts, model choice, quality checks), with a shipped LLM feature you can show\n\nHealthcare or regulated-data experience (HIPAA, GDPR) and accessibility (WCAG)\n\nMobile CI/CD (EAS, fastlane, GitHub Actions)\n\nDesign systems, Storybook\n\nEarly-stage startup experience\n\nExperience & Soft Skills\n\nEnglish C1 or higher: fluent written and spoken, and you enjoy live brainstorming on calls\n\nProactive communicator: confirms priorities, flags trade-offs early, sends a short weekly written update\n\nAutonomous and comfortable with ambiguity: you propose solutions rather than wait for a ticket\n\nOptimistic about
