Wise is a British financial technology company founded in 2011 by two Estonians who were frustrated by the cost of moving money between pounds and euros. It built a network of local bank accounts in each market so that most transfers never cross a border, publishes the mid-market exchange rate with an explicit fee, and has extended the model into multi-currency accounts, debit cards, business payments and an infrastructure product that banks resell. The company listed directly on the London Stock Exchange in 2021 and moves tens of billions of pounds for millions of personal and business customers each quarter.

Wise is a global technology company, building the best way to move and manage the world’s money.

Min fees. Max ease. Full speed.

Whether people and businesses are sending money to another country, spending abroad, or making and receiving international payments, Wise is on a mission to make their lives easier and save them money.

As part of our team, you will be helping us create an entirely new network for the world's money.

For everyone, everywhere.

More about our mission and what we offer.

The Americas L&D Specialist owns Fraud L&D outcomes across the Americas region and holds a global horizontal scope: measurement operations & insight - the shared L1-L3 tooling all specialists use, L4 attribution execution, data partnerships and knowledge governance.

The L&D Lead owns the measurement architecture as a strategic system and the L4-L5 impact & ROI narrative to stakeholders. The Americas specialist runs the operational cycles that feed it.

The role sits inside a three-specialist regional model. Each specialist carries the same shared regional scope for their region and one distinct horizontal owned globally on behalf of the Fraud L&D team.

Specialists are not expected to deliver every in-person onboarding session themselves. They design the training, deploy and manage a regional pool of trainers and mentors to deliver it, and step in to facilitate themselves when capacity allows or when the session requires it (e.g. new content, high-risk topics, cover). Ownership of the outcome sits with the specialist; delivery is shared with the trainer & mentor pool.

Measurement operations

Owns the shared L1-L3 tooling all three regional specialists use for their own delivery: assessment templates, quiz banks, feedback instruments, Kirkpatrick L1-L3 reporting templates. Each regional specialist runs L1-L3 in region using this shared toolkit. Also owns the operational LNA and RCA cadence and templates the team applies. Runs the L4 attribution cycles globally for defined interventions: pre-baseline → post-measurement at 30/60/90 days → comparison group. Publishes results. Feeds outputs to the L&D Lead, who owns the L4-L5 impact & ROI narrative to stakeholders.

Data partnerships & L&D analytics

Day-to-day point of contact with QC and analytics teams for L&D data plumbing. Maintains the L&D Lightdash dashboards (speed-to-competency, DA%, cohort performance). Translates QC and DA data into learning-needs insights the team acts on. Escalates framework-level data-partnership decisions to the L&D Lead.

Knowledge governance

Owns the operational L&D↔KM link: versioning, review cycles, wikis and updates-channel sync between training content and operational knowledge. Standardises ownership and review cycles across L&D and KM so regional specialists and Ops leads work from one source of truth.

  • Effective training facilitation
    • Applies varied facilitation techniques across diverse Americas audiences. Adjusts style to group dynamics. Creates an inclusive learning environment. Holds credible SME depth in Fraud products, processes and regulation.
  • Measurement operations & attribution
    • Builds and maintains the shared L1-L3 tooling used across regions. Runs L4 attribution cycles cleanly (defined intervention, pre-baseline → post-measurement, comparison group). Maintains dashboards that answer real questions rather than display metrics. Translates performance data into curriculum and delivery decisions. This is the horizontal capability the role sets the standard for.
  • Excellent communication (verbal & written)
    • Conveys information clearly to diverse audiences. Adjusts style to the group. Uses active listening, effective body language and constructive feedback. Communicates proactively and transparently with internal teams and stakeholders across time zones.
  • Analytical thinking & problem solving
    • Identifies gaps and improvement opportunities from trainee feedback, assessments and performance data. Investigates root causes rather than symptoms. Translates findings into curriculum and delivery changes.
  • Organisational & documentation skills
    • Manages Americas training schedules, rosters, logistics and records. Coordinates onboarding, upskilling and refresher processes end-to-end. Maintains detailed and up-to-date records of attendance, feedback, assessments and follow-ups. Treats documentation as part of the work; records decisions, versions materials.
  • Time & work management
    • Balances regional delivery load with horizontal measurement operations & insight ownership. Prioritises work agreed with the L&D Lead. Adapts to changes in priority. Uses available tools to maintain quality standards. Ambassador for the L&D operating model - represents scope/RACI, redirects out-of-scope asks.
  • Cross-regional collaboration
    • Works effectively across time zones and locations with the APAC and EMEA specialists. Shares design decisions, aligns on standards and provides cover when needed.
  • Proactively Seeks Opportunities
    • Identifies areas for improvement in processes and documentation, works on solutions to enhance customer experience, and suggests fixes for recurring errors.
  • Embraces Change and Adaptability
    • Stays updated with recent changes, readily embraces new processes, and adapts quickly to shifting priorities while maintaining quality and focus.
  • Team Participation
    • Actively participates in team discussions, offers constructive feedback, and collaborates to solve challenges.
  • Proactively Solves Problems
    • Identifies and addresses challenges promptly, utilizes critical thinking to overcome obstacles, and seeks timely resolutions to avoid escalation. When flagging an issue, defaults to suggesting a path forward.
  • Takes Ownership
    • Takes full responsibility for assigned tasks, maintains up-to-date product knowledge, and continuously drives performance improvement to meet or exceed KPIs.
  • Enables team success
    • Works collaboratively to ensure team goals are met. Shares knowledge and resources, ensuring everyone has the tools and information needed to succeed.
  • Data Driven
    • Demonstrates an understanding of data to measure and quantify the impact of their work. Analyzes performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and supports decisions with relevant and reliable data.
  • Customer Satisfaction
    • Prioritizes customer satisfaction over personal preferences, actively listens to customer feedback, and advocates for their needs within the organization.
  • Team Collaboration
    • Focuses on team success, recognizes contributions from all team members, and maintains humility to foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Professionalism and Interpersonal Skills
    • Approaches interactions with a positive and constructive attitude, is ethical and fair, maintains respect and professionalism even in challenging situations.
  • Transparent Communication
    • Demonstrates great listening skills, empathy, and patience, and communicates honestly and transparently, focusing on solutions. Gives and receives timely and specific feedback to support growth and impact. Responds to Slack/email within a working day. Acknowledges receipt even when a full answer takes longer. Doesn't let messages sit.
  • Fosters a Supportive Environment
    • Challenges arguments, not individuals, to promote healthy discussions. Recognizes personal limits and seeks help when needed, encouraging a culture where asking for assistance is welcomed.
