Wise is a British financial technology company founded in 2011 by two Estonians who were frustrated by the cost of moving money between pounds and euros. It built a network of local bank accounts in each market so that most transfers never cross a border, publishes the mid-market exchange rate with an explicit fee, and has extended the model into multi-currency accounts, debit cards, business payments and an infrastructure product that banks resell. The company listed directly on the London Stock Exchange in 2021 and moves tens of billions of pounds for millions of personal and business customers each quarter.

Wise is a global technology company, building the best way to move and manage the world’s money.

Min fees. Max ease. Full speed.

Whether people and businesses are sending money to another country, spending abroad, or making and receiving international payments, Wise is on a mission to make their lives easier and save them money.

As part of our team, you will be helping us create an entirely new network for the world's money.

For everyone, everywhere.

More about our mission and what we offer.

We are seeking an Intelligence Collections Specialist to play a pivotal role in developing, scaling, and operating our industry-leading Intelligence Collection Framework (ICF). As a foundational member of the newly established Threat Intelligence Unit (TIU), you will be responsible for identifying and mitigating threats before they impact our network.

Your Mission: Fraud and financial crime do not originate at Wise; they are conceptualized, tested, and commercialized within external threat-actor ecosystems long before they target our platform. Your mission is to establish a proactive presence in these spaces. By distinguishing critical intelligence from noise and disinformation, you will refine the ICF into a highly sophisticated instrument. Through OSINT, industry collaboration, and the direct monitoring of adversarial environments, you will convert raw data into actionable intelligence, serving as the primary radar for the TIU and Wise’s representative within the broader industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Framework Operation: Manage and operate the ICF on a continuous basis, filtering out irrelevant data and contextualizing discoveries to deliver high-fidelity, actionable threat intelligence to the TIU and broader Wise business units.

  • Strategic Roadmap Ownership: Drive the end-to-end evolution of the collections roadmap, integrating new data sources and expanding capabilities across OSINT, deep/dark web monitoring, and closed social media networks.

  • Cross-Functional Enablement: Support the Analytical and Investigative functions of the TIU, alongside various internal teams, by translating intelligence into proactive defense mechanisms against fraud and financial crime.

  • Adversarial Monitoring: Monitor threat actors within their native environments-including fraud-as-a-service marketplaces, restricted forums, and encrypted messaging channels-to identify emerging tactics, techniques, and typologies (TTPs).

  • Requirements Gathering: Partner with internal stakeholders across Wise to understand their specific threat intelligence requirements and continuously optimize the ICF to meet those needs.

  • Industry Representation: Serve as a primary representative for Wise within industry working groups and public-private partnerships, identifying collaborative intelligence-sharing opportunities to combat systemic threats.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Core Expertise: Proven experience in the collection, analysis, and dissemination of threat intelligence within a corporate or regulatory environment.

  • Strategic Mindset: A sophisticated, counter-adversarial approach to threat detection and proactive defense.

  • Intelligence Lifecycle Proficiency: A thorough understanding of the end-to-end intelligence lifecycle, ensuring data collection translates directly into operational action.

  • Sector Experience: Solid background in fraud and/or financial crime roles within the financial services or fintech sectors.

  • External Stakeholder Management: Demonstrated experience collaborating with external networks, such as industry trust groups, public-private partnerships, or law enforcement agencies.

  • Communication Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse internal teams and external industry peers.

  • Desirable Credentials: Relevant technical training (e.g., SANS) or professional certifications (such as ACAMS, ACFE, or ICA) are highly advantageous, as is prior experience with cyber kill-chain mapping.

For everyone, everywhere. We're people building money without borders - without judgement or prejudice, too. We believe teams are strongest when they are diverse, equitable and inclusive.

We're proud to have a truly international team, and we celebrate our differences.

Inclusive teams help us live our values and make sure every Wiser feels respected, empowered to contribute towards our mission and able to progress in their careers.
