That means the infrastructure we run must be secure, reliable, resilient and fast. The engineer who owns it must be exceptional. That's where you come in.\nReporting directly to the Head of Technology, you will be the technical authority for Wisr's cloud infrastructure and platform engineering discipline. You'll own the reliability, security posture and scalability of our infrastructure, working across cloud providers with full autonomy to make and execute architectural decisions that matter.\nYou'll set direction, shape standards, and work closely with product engineers to ensure everything we ship is built on infrastructure they can trust.\nDesign and evolve our multi-cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS and GCP)\n\nMaintain platform reliability, building scaling systems, automation and optimisation of our technology stack.\n\nChampion infrastructure-as-code practices across the organisation, using IaC tools (Pulumi) to manage the lifecycle of underlying Azure resources and deploying applications on top of it.\n\nBuild and maintain an internal developer platform that enables engineers to ship faster and with greater confidence.\n\nDefine and own SLOs, own standards for CI/CD, environment management, containerisation, and observability.\n\nContinuously seek and implement automation opportunities, leveraging modern SRE tools to automate operational tasks, speeding up delivery of applications and services thereby increasing team efficiency and the SRE process for our squads.\n\nMonitor, detect and address system issues by creating strategies and designing systems to automatically troubleshoot.\n\nInfluence architectural decisions across the broader engineering team. Write RFCs, participate in design reviews and mentor software engineers at all levels.\n\nPartner with the Head of Technology on roadmap and strategy.\n\nWork closely with the Cybersecurity squad to create a comprehensive Disaster Recovery strategy and perform periodic DR drills.\n\nLead incident response and post mortems with a blameless, systems-thinking mindset. Eliminate toil through automation and champion operational maturity across the engineering organisation.\n\nEmbed security across the entire software delivery lifecycle and not as an afterthought, driving a zero-trust architecture.\n\nManage external vendor relationships and ongoing subscriptions related to the platform.\n\nAbout you\nYou have built strong working relationships across engineering squads and operations teams, and are firmly established as the go-to Cloud Engineer across the business. You think in systems and when something needs doing twice, you've already automated it. You own incidents end-to-end and you're not afraid to push back when a decision puts reliability or security at risk. Above all, you are a coach at heart, and thrive when sharing your knowledge with others.\nWith a proactive approach and mindset, you are familiar with and stay updated on technology and trends across all cloud platforms.\n5+ years of hands-on cloud engineering experience across at least two major providers (AWS, GCP or Azure)\n\nStrong understanding of the design and maintenance of CI/CD templating and deployment practices (Github Actions, Azure DevOps)\n\nStrong experience with and a deep understanding of Azure.
