Reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, this role pairs Colombian statutory and tax compliance with hands-on US entity accounting and ownership of the accounts receivable cycle.\nYou will work alongside our Colombia-based Junior Accountant, who owns accounts payable. Between you, the two of you cover the transactional cycle end to end.\nThis is a hands-on role on a small team, with real ownership of the Colombian compliance calendar and exposure well beyond a single set of books. It is ideal for someone who has worked in small to mid-sized companies or in the Colombian subsidiary of a multinational, where adaptability, ownership, and wearing multiple hats are essential, and who wants scope beyond a single set of books.\nResponsibilities include but are not limited to\nOwn Colombian statutory accounting and tax compliance, including:\nThe full accounting cycle under NIIF as adopted in Colombia (Decreto 2420 de 2015), on the PUC, through monthly and annual financial statements\nThe DIAN calendar: IVA, retención en la fuente, autorretención de renta, and the annual declaración de renta\nICA and retención de ICA in each municipality where the company is registered\nInformación exógena, including the third-party reconciliation work through the year that keeps the annual filing routine\nFacturación electrónica, documento soporte, and nómina electrónica\nPayroll compliance: PILA, seguridad social and parafiscales, and prestaciones sociales (prima, cesantías and intereses, vacaciones), including liquidaciones\nCross-border requirements: declaraciones de cambio and Banco de la República registration for funding and service flows with the US parent\nIntercompany support through the year, and coordination of transfer pricing documentation with the external advisor\nCoordination of the revisor fiscal and external tax advisors, and Cámara de Comercio renewals\nSupport accounting for our US entities, including:\nMonthly entity-level close across multiple US entities and business units\nFixed asset registers and depreciation schedules\nDebt and note amortization schedules, interest accruals, and lender reporting\nCapital expenditures and reserves\nRecurring accruals, including taxes and insurance\nIntercompany balances and owner distributions, kept in agreement across entities\nSupport the Accounts Receivable (AR) cycle, including:\nPreparing, sending, and tracking invoices\nCash application, credits, and invoice adjustments\nCollections follow-up and aging review\nAR at close: revenue cut-off, unbilled and deferred balances, and reserve assessment\nPrepare month-end and year-end close entries, accruals, and reconciliations in QuickBooks.\nPerform bank and balance sheet reconciliations to a documented standard, with support attached.\nPartner with the Junior Accountant on the AP side, and cover for each other when needed.\nMaintain accurate financial records and audit-ready documentation.\nBuild ad hoc schedules and analysis for the Accounting Supervisor and Head of Finance, in English, often on short notice.\nHelp implement accounting best practices and process improvements.\nJump into other accounting projects and ad-hoc tasks as business needs evolve.\nRequirements\n Título de Contador Público from a Colombian university recognized by the Ministerio de Educación.\nActive Colombian CPA license (Tarjeta Profesional - JCC) required. Candidates will provide their tarjeta number and a current certificate of antecedentes disciplinarios.\n 4+ years of accounting experience after the tarjeta, including preparing a company's complete filings end to end, not just supplying inputs.\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field (Contaduría Pública).\nDemonstrated experience preparing a full DIAN calendar end to end: IVA, retención, renta, exógena.\nHands-on Colombian payroll and seguridad social experience.\nMulti-entity experience. You have closed more than one set of books in the same month and kept intercompany straight between them.\nHands-on accounts receivable ownership, including collections and the AR side of close.\nExperience using accounting or billing platforms (e.g., Siigo, World Office, Helisa, QuickBooks, Bill.com).\nProficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets. You can build a reconciliation, not just complete one.\nBackground in small to mid-sized companies, or in the Colombian subsidiary of a multinational, where roles are less siloed and adaptability is required.\nStrong attention to detail and organizational skills.\nAbility to handle sensitive financial information with discretion.\nClear communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.\n Fluency in English is required (C1 or above).
