Now, let’s make sure you’re a good fit for the role:\nKey Responsibilities\nTake full technical ownership of multiple products, including building new features, implementing technical improvements, and providing support to editorial teams.\nDesign, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using JavaScript, React, and Node.js.\nDevelop and maintain GraphQL APIs using Node.js, with NestJS experience as a plus.\nDesign and optimize cloud-based applications and services using AWS.\nWork with PostgreSQL and other database technologies to build reliable and scalable data solutions.\nLead and provide technical direction to a team of junior developers.\nEstablish and enforce software engineering best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, Git, CI/CD, and automated testing.\nContinuously optimize application architecture, performance, scalability, maintainability, and reliability.\nBuild and promote reusable components and solutions that can be leveraged across multiple products and teams.\nCollaborate with stakeholders and technical teams to communicate solutions, demonstrate work, identify risks, and drive projects forward.\nWork effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment while meeting critical project timelines.\nProvide technical guidance and independently drive solutions while seeking feedback when appropriate.\nMust-have Skills\n5+ years of experience architecting and building scalable web applications.\nExpert-level JavaScript skills with strong experience developing applications using React.\nExtensive experience building GraphQL APIs with Node.js.\nStrong experience with AWS, including:S3\nEC2\nRDS\nAPI Gateway\nCloudFront\nLambda\n\nIn-depth knowledge of database technologies with hands-on experience using PostgreSQL.\nReal-world experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins.\nStrong understanding of software architecture, scalability, performance, and maintainability.\nExperience with software engineering best practices, including unit testing, code reviews, Git, documentation, and coding standards.\nExperience providing technical direction and mentoring junior developers.\nStrong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nAbility to work independently, identify risks, and drive solutions in a fast-paced agile environment.\nNice-to-have:\nAI Tooling Proficiency: Leverage one or more AI tools to optimize and augment day-to-day work, including coding, drafting, analysis, research, or process automation.
