This newly created, on-site role will partner closely with operations, guide a team of technicians and bin department employees, use data and WM systems to identify trends and improve processes, and ensure equipment is safe, reliable, and ready to support daily operations. Heavy equipment or Yellow Iron experience is helpful, but strong people leadership, communication, coaching, and collaboration are key. Relocation assistance is offered.\nII. Essential Duties and Responsibilities\nEnsures safe and reliable vehicles are available to meet operational requirements. Conducts fleet evaluations to ensure maintenance standards are met.\nManages maintenance managers to ensure performance and cost focus across the area.\nReviews capital equipment requisitions in line with Corporate guidelines and objectives.\nManages effective utilization of vehicle assets.\nEnsures maintenance shops are adequately staffed and mechanics are properly trained.\nEnsures vehicle management systems are effectively utilized.\nComplies with and ensures adherence to WM’s Mission to Zero standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations.\nMeets all financial review dates and corporate directed programs in a timely fashion.\nAssists in budget process as required.\nAssists in creating a positive team-oriented environment through employee development and motivation.\nEnsures the cleanliness and maintenance of the maintenance shops through regular inspections and preventive maintenance programs.\nOversees personnel needs of the department including selecting, coaching, and training staff and maintenance managers, and evaluating employee performance. Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.\nMotivates, coaches, counsels and disciplines managers according to WM’s policies and procedures and ensures that maintenance managers are in compliance with the standards in their administration of counseling and disciplinary steps.\nProvides training and presentations as needed in a positive and professional manner.\nIII. Required Qualifications\nBachelor's Degree (accredited), or in lieu of Degree, a High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and 4 years of relevant experience\n5 years previous experience (in addition to education requirements)\nDriver's License Valid Driver's License Upon Hire\nB. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive pay.\nV.
