Job Summary\nManages the full fleet of primary and secondary equipment within the assigned area, in alignment with corporate objectives.\nDirect supervision of: 1 Fleet Manager (Afternoon shift), 9-12 mechanics and 1 fleet operations specialist & responsible for 60 to 80 assets.\nII. Essential Duties and Responsibilities\nContinually focuses on achieving market base profitability through effective management of all fleet and maintenance activities within the assigned area, including cost control, employee development, and high training and safety standards.\nReviews capital equipment requisitions in line with Corporate guidelines and objectives.\nEnsures safe and reliable vehicles are available to meet operational requirements.\nManages effective utilization of vehicle assets.\nConducts fleet evaluations to ensure maintenance standards are met.\nEnsures maintenance shops are adequately staffed and mechanics are properly trained.\nEnsures vehicle management systems are effectively utilized.\nComplies with and ensures adherence to WM’s Mission to Zero standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations.\nMeets all financial review dates and corporate directed programs in a timely fashion.\nAssists in budget process as required.\nEnsures the cleanliness and maintenance of the maintenance shops through regular inspections and preventive maintenance programs.\nOversees personnel needs of the department including selecting, coaching, disciplining, and training employees and evaluating employee performance. Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.\nConducts and/or attends and contributes to periodic driver/safety meetings to maintain favorable working relationships among all employees and promote maximum morale, productivity, and efficiency.\nProvides training and presentations as needed in a positive and professional manner.\nUpdates and submits required reports in a timely manner.\nIII. Qualifications\nA. Required Qualifications \nBachelor's Degree (accredited), or in lieu of degree\nHigh School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four (4) years of relevant work experience\n5 years previous experience (in addition to education requirements)\nDriver's License Valid driver’s license required.\nB. Preferred Qualifications\n310T license or Red Seal\nIV. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location. This position is for an existing vacancy. In addition, this position is eligible for bonus.\nV.
