I. Job Summary It is the responsibility of the Medical Laboratory Technician to collect laboratory specimens as requested. The specimens are analyzed according to laboratory standards, recorded accurately so that the best service possible is available to the physicians for use in diagnosis and treatment of the patient. II. Duties And Responsibilities Collects, receives and accessions a variety of specimens. Performs and documents laboratory test and/or resul Performs and records calibration according to policy. Performs and records daily Quality Control and documentsany corrective action. Performs and records maintenance procedures according to policy. Performs basic clerical duties related to test data with notificationof critical values according to policy. Performs and records analysis of proficiency tests according to policy. Other Responsibilities: Maintains assigned lab section to include QC, maintenance logs, inventory of supplies & procedure manuals. Updates procedure manuals. Complies with policies and procedures regarding department operations, fire safety and infection control. Maintains and ensures patient confidentiality at all times. Complies with all organizational
