Job Summary\nUnder the direction of the Director of Pharmacy and the pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician maintains records, transcribes orders, and prepares medication to be dispensed for patients.\nII. Duties And Responsibilities\nFill medications entered by pharmacists.\nDispense and provide proper medication to be delivered to nursing station in a prompt and timely manner.\nInsure medications are replaced in Omnicell cabinets and drawers for nursing convenience.\nMaintain established inventory levels.\nCommunicate with nursing staff on medication orders\nMonthly floor checks.\nOther Responsibilities\nBiweekly Omnicell checks for medication reconciliation, (ie waste, returns, etc)\nIndividual area checks appointed by Dept. Head for expired and missing medication to be replaced.\nVarious filing and reports appointed by Dept. Head.\nMaintenance of lost charges file.\nAutomatic stop orders.\nCommunicate with director about direct supplies.\nRetrieve out of stock, or non-formulary medicines from outside of hospital pharmacy and keep documents relating to these activities current.\nIII. Education\nMinimum of high school education or GED preferred. Must be able to use calculator and computer.\nIV. Qualifications And Experience\nPharmacy experience preferred but not required. Must be able to communicate with other staff. Attention to detail and accuracy. Must be able to prioritize work load.\nMust be registered with the Georgia State Board of Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician\nV.
